Glenn

Welcome!! I worked on cars and trucks when I got out of school. After a couple of years, my career went a different way, but I never lost my love of cars and trucks. I have always fixed my own cars and trucks. You will find many videos on my channel on how to repair and upgrade your car and truck. Repairs that go from brakes, brake calipers, airbags, and clutches to NV5600 transmission rebuilds and many more. Like most, I don't like to spend a lot of money, so many of my videos are about how to make things yourself instead of buying kits. On our channel, you will find videos like how to airbag your truck for $100.00, how to replace BMW timing chain guides, how to rebuild a Dodge 6-speed transmission, how to replace a head gasket on a BMW, build your own compound turbos, and many more. Subscribe and save some money doing things yourself. Remember the channel name GlennFix. Next time you need to fix something, check our channel. We probably have a video on it.

    I just did my water pump on my 1994 dodge ram... Was a learning process... In retrosoect... Disconnect both batteries... Then remove the raditor over flow bottle Next take the alternator off. Just the 3 bolts and let it lay out of the way.. no need to remove the wires... Now its easier to get at the water pump... In reteospect. I would install two studs where the water pump bolts on... easier to drop water pump on the studs and run nuts down.... Took me a while. . I didnt remove the alternator until i had problems going back together.... Live and learn Hope some of you might find thid usefull...

    i bought the same cartridge for my 330d (bigger fins, not cut on half every second one) its the same as yours. The question is do i need to optimize the ecu to make it work? because i actually lost some power with that cartridge (i did not touch the ecu after instaling that turbo) and the power should be higher than before. btw that is a great video man.

  • @Glennfix
    @Glennfix16 күн бұрын

    Depending on the year the ecu will adjust it self for miner upgrades. The diesel may be different, I am not to familiar with BMW diesel. I have a Dodge Cummins I put compound turbos on it and you at least need a boost fooler. With a boost fooler it will trick the ecu in adding more fuel. I have videos on the Dodge compounds. Fuel = boost = power, you need enough fuel to spin the turbo.

    I am currently dealing with my fan being out on my 2015 Sonic. The mechanic quoted me $700 to replace it. I'm definitely not in a position to afford that (along with the AC compressor that also decided to shoot crap right now...by chance have a video on that?). I'll be utilizing your video to walk me through doing this myself. I am, admittedly, a female that is not very mechanically inclined lol Thank you SO much for your video on this! • @Glennfix
    @Glennfix28 күн бұрын

    You can find the fan on Amazon for about $50.00 dollars. If your A/C went out at the same time as your fan stopped working, it is probably not the A/C. The A/C has a high-pressure valve that will let out the freon if the pressure gets too high. This is what happens when the fan stops working. The one you see in the video that is what happened, the A/C stopped working at the same time.. So, after I fixed the fan, I added freon and the A/C worked fine. I do not have a video on replacing the A/C compressor in that car, but I do have a video on how to add freon. How does a car AC system work kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJOp0q2tj5iYqMo.html Diagnosing Bad AC Compressor kzread.info/dash/bejne/hnyjlsOinajchdY.html .

  • @Glennfix
    @GlennfixАй бұрын

    You need to go with the compressor because it is the only thing that needs oil. Synthetic polyol ester (POE) is used for all 134-A freon. The PAG 46 is an auto-grade oil. 134-A is also used in refrigeration.

  • @Glennfix

    Something is wrong, you must be looking at a different truck or something is different. If you tightening this truck to 280ft you would not be able to drive it. the wheel would not turn. With this one you need to replace the nut with the bearing. It is a locking nut and wont turn once you get it set.

    Glenn, quick question - I broke a bolt on the lower timing cover while doing water pump, it will not come out. Can I remove lower cover only to get bolt out, or do I need to take off everything above too? I don't need my guides done, etc. just need to remove the lower cover if possible. Thanks

  • @Glennfix
    @Glennfix3 ай бұрын

    You probably have to take everything apart. The top covers push down on the bottom cover. You also have to take the lower oil pan off to get to the bolts on the bottom. If you never took the lower cover off, I would just leave it and see what happens (If it is just one bolt). Usually, you have to use a small amount of pressure to pry the cover off. It should be sealed and will probably be okay, but there is always a chance it will leak.

    Yes, do not remove the clip. I will pop out and it is almost impossible to push in. If you remove the clip about the only way you can get it in is to loosen the bolts on the transmission and pull the trans back a little bolt on the slave cylinder and tighten up the bolts. If you replace the clutch this is the way you put it back in.
