    Hello TabTravels! We love your videos. If a white Christian family from the USA wants to move down there, is it possible to find jobs, build businesses, buy land, build farms? Are there any problems with Racism?

  • @TabTravels
    @TabTravels18 күн бұрын

    Hello and thank you for the positive feedback! Church and religious organizations are at the heart of Grenadian culture I think this island could be a good fit for your family! I am not sure about buying land but I do know that it is possible as there are residents of Grenada that own holiday homes and return here seasonally. I suspect starting a business would be possible as well if you can go through the official channels to establish it with the government. I met restaurant owners that were from the states/UK and were able to operate within the island. As far as jobs, I suspect that would be more challenging because it is difficult for local Grenadians to find official employment, the hourly wage in Grenada is also a lot lower than what you would expect coming from the US. I would recommend finding a remote US job for income while in Grenada- some family members of SGU students were able to do this to support their students on island.

    Hello, how many suitcases can you check in typically? I heard there were some limits placed by several airlines as to how many you can bring

  • @TabTravels
    @TabTravelsАй бұрын

    Hello, yes I have heard that some of the airlines have added caps on how much suitcases each traveler can bring. I traveled to Grenada with 4 suitcases when I first moved there, and I traveled with one other person so we could split the bags up between the two of us. I hope this helps! Students defiantly bring a lot of suitcases every fall. If you are not able to bring many things it would be best to try and buy off students leaving the island ahead of time but most students leave in May & new students arrive in August. Some med students remain on island longer if they are studying for Step, you might find they are willing to sell you most of their items.

    First of all the Taino Arawak aka the kalinagoes are the first people on the island but not indigenous to the Caribbean. They are the original people from Europe who spoke Creole language. The indigenous people of the entire Caribbean and Americas are called the Olmecs. The Amerindian aka the native Indians came long after them and settled amongst them. These people are found in the Amazon today and south Americas and even Canada but their origin are from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and bUzbekistan. 1000 years ago came the moors who are called maroons, black Caribs and moors they settled and mixed with all the indigenous people of the Caribbean and Americas. The Caribs are black and they are not Indigenous nor are they Africans. They ruled all of Europe and pacific and the middle East before the Europeans came. After the enslaved of the Black Caribs or maroons and Taino Arawak on Grenada by the French and the arrival of the British who fought the French and killed out the Black Caribs and Arawaks the British brought the negroes from Africa as slaves. Grenada had two different types of slavery of black people compared to other Caribbean islands. The Caribs and Arawaks were enslaved by the French and were killed on a 16 month war between British and French and the remaining 50 leaped to their death. This war was led by Fedon a slave owner who was of a french father and maroon mother. When the British took over the Island of Grenada they brought the negroes from Africa. This is not a continuous slavery so you cannot tell the story as if it is. The people of Grenada are mostly Negroes from Africa with the migration of other blacks from different islands. The Indians came at the end of the 1800. Please don't confuse the Caribs with the Amerindian they are not the same. The Caribs resemble Africans and they were a warrior and fierce hostile people. They are the original moors and maroons. Thanks for trying but most of it is wrong.

    St. George, as a parish, is NOT GRENADA! Maybe the title should have been 'Best Restaurants in St. George, the capital of Grenada.' There's Kelly's Hotspot in St. John. There's Mt. Edgecombe in St. Mark. There's Petite Anse in St. Patrick. There's Belmont Estate in St. Patrick and St. Andrew. There's Six Senses in St. David. I've eaten at all except Six Senses, but the reviews have been good. A partial representation of the best restaurants does not give a true picture of the plethora of delicious dishes available island wide on our island.

    Check out our new beach bar, called the Monkey Bar that is open to the public (without a need of Day Pass) Friday, Saturday and Sunday from lunch to sunset. This area is located next to our Enchanted Forest Sculpture Garden and the access is from Pt Salines, on the Portici Beach public beach entrance. The Monkey bar is a great place to hang out by the beach, while relaxing in hammocks, grab a cold beer, and order food from laluna's Italian restaurant. A local Grenada dish is served every Sunday.

    Hey! I’m an incoming MS1 this August and I was wondering if it would be cheaper to order the same thing everyday on campus vs meal prepping given the inflation of prices. Also would you recommend bringing a kurig/rice cooker or is there a good chance that I could buy one secondhand from students? Any information would be greatly appreciated and your videos are so helpful.

  • @TabTravels
    @TabTravels2 ай бұрын

    Hi and welcome to the SGU family, students often do sell the items they brought to island but I don't know how common a rice cooker would be since I don't recall seeing many for sale at the end of the term. I do remember some selling kurigs but it might be a risk coming to island without one as most students sell after semester so try and secure one before you come in the fall since a lot of students are looking for stuff and not much is sold then. I think the cost is pretty similar to eating on campus and meal prepping I did both since I would get tired of the food on campus and then tired of the limited food options at the grocery store but since I made this video a new grocery has opened up in LAE so that might give you better options I hear the new grocery is great!

    St. George University allegedly is allegedly running a criminal enterprise of money laundering. It is ripping students off. Compared to all other medical schools in the Caribbean and Central America, it is the most expensive. They are accepting and graduating (breading) medical students as RABBITS. The quality of education is no better than any other school. The focus remains not on learning but on memorization to pass the USMLEs. The majority of students who graduate from St. Georges are not very smart as they were rejected from US medical schools in the first place. Together with a focus on incompetent nurse practitioners and foreign medical graduates, the healthcare system in the United States is doomed. St. Georges does not care about students or alumni. They are just another number, suckers, and free money in the eyes of Chancellor Charles Modica, who uses students, alumni, and their money for his luxuries. St. Georges allegedly bribes officials at various hospitals in the USA offers them free trips, and then donates up to a million dollars to develop affiliations, e.g. at Jersey Shore University Hospital, Neptune, NJ. THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE IS NOTHING BUT A TELEMARKETING COMPANY, WHERE THE SO-CALLED ADMISSIONS OFFICERS (in reality salesmen and saleswomen) keep harassing individual students to sign up. The admissions criterion is not universal and depends on which country the student is from. The admissions office tries to recruit students mostly from the USA because of the Federal student loans the students can get. It's almost $100,000 per year, once you add tuition, housing, meals, travel, etc., etc. It's allegedly a money-making scheme for the Italian Mafia and their money laundering enterprise at St. Georges. Stay away from this so-called alleged criminal enterprise. Look at other Caribbean Medical Schools for less than half the price of St. George and by the time you are done with school you will have saved over $200,000 in tuition and that will pay a significant amount for a down payment for your new house as you get started in your new professional career. The Justice Department and all Attorney Generals need to investigate and shut down this criminal enterprise. Consider other schools, save tons of money, and make an educated decision: 1) American University of the Caribbean - St. Maarten 2) Saba University - Saba Island 3) Ross University - Barbados 4) Caribbean Medical University - Curacao 5) American University of Antigua - Antigua 6) Xavier University - Aruba 7) St. James University - Antigua
