Is this after the canyon but before riverdale?
This is actually on the other side of the mountain.
There is a 100% still quite a few still in there I caught one my 5th cast and plus the fish there are beautiful to so it makes it even better.
Crazy that this video came out and then within the past month someone actually did catch and log a golden trout in Fish Brain! So they are still out there, just very few and far between.
Damn man. I used to go fishing with my Yorkie too. Good times. Enjoy them.
great video and very wonderful i really enjoy watching your videos wish you good health and success
Thank you! Anything you’d like to see in the future?
that looks so fun!
Spinners are great for trout but personally I suck at using them
Couldn’t tell if your dog was afraid of the fish or interested in tasting them 😜 glad you had some success at that lake, it can be tricky!
Haha he’s just obsessed!
0:55 I hiked a spot with boulders like this once. That’s right, once... I learnt and won’t do it again 😂
Lame
Wet your hands before you touch the trout my dude
It works 😂
Me and my girlfriend were up there around the same time as you guys. Went for our first Goldens and only caught alot of Brookies. not convinced there is any Goldens left in there.
I agree
I love desert streams. It was a small desert stream that held a population of long ago transplanted Lahontan Cutthroats that were used to repopulate Pyramid Lake with the native cutties.
You need to learn how to handle fish. The fish you caught may not live very long because your dry hands will remove the slime off their scales and allow them to get an infection.
I caught my 1st Golden there. That was about 20 years ago, I think. Its been a while.
I was hoping to get mine, but that may be very hard to do at that lake
That's awesome! congratulations! I haven't completed the slam yet
Thank you! You got this! Yours is just around the corner
Good to see there are some big browns left. Nice catches.
Way nice brown! congrats. that crawdad wasn't letting go....haha
Nice midnight brown.
Used to gear fish little dell a bunch. Blue and silver kastmasters really smashed em one spring. I caught 40 in 4 hours. 3-5 bites in as many casts
That’s a heck of a day!
Great video! Just moved to Utah and I’m looking for some good spots to fly fish at! If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love to know what lake this is to try it out! No worries if you’d rather not share!
I would, but people get mad. A great resource is the Utah DWR interactive fishing map. There you can research by species and find which lakes have specific trout. Do a quick search on the web too. You are welcome to come with me on any trips too
Yes, there are surely still Goldens in there. My very first golden trout was from there BEFORE the DWR was able to procure GT eggs and stock them again. My golden was a wild relic from a population that hadn't been stocked for decades. I guarantee they are in there, in catchable quantities. They are a spring/early summer spawner, so near the inlets and outlet are where you'd want to focus your efforts to find them at this time of year.
Looks like I’ll have to try again!
I can confirm I went to that lake and I caught a golden trout
Is it normal that you don’t catch any fish tho. Fishing in San Pablo Reservoir last week for hours and caught nothing…. No beginners luck at all😂
There is definitely an art and finesse to it. Keep practicing, learn the way the lures feel and act, try to think what would make this fish like to eat this. Sometimes you have great days, others not so much, but the more you get out, the better you’ll get, and the less bad days you’ll have!
@@Hookemhigh27 ok! Bouta plan on my sixth strike soon
Good to know! I was planning on hiking in there sometime soon to try and get my first golden trout. Might be better to hold off for now. Thanks for the info!
This is a lake fishing way what I've been told in the 80's are you shor about the por man's fly fishing 🎣🤔 I'm going to ask about this one. But is still cheep for a fly rod and reel for $54 sometimes cheeper stuff on Amazon's sales.
Sweet fish👌🏻
Beautiful video, thanks for sharing ! 👍
Love the teaching!
What else would you like to learn?
dang man, wet your hands before handling fish!
My hands are wet
thats a cool looking trout
Omg that was a noice one
Good to see the Uintah mountains again. super fun aggressive little tigers! I want to bring my yorkie out on the kayak now!
Do it! He’ll bring you good luck 😂
idk why ppl buy those tiny gay trout nets lol
nice fish tho congrats
I hooked a brown trout about 2/3 that size in the Cumberland River and when I got it up to my kayak and touched it the line snapped, but awesome catch.
It is good practice to wet your hands before handling trout. Their slime protects them from disease.
My hands are wet
My son missed a meter plus Murray cod right at the bank over three months ago and I haven’t stopped hearing about it ever since.👁️👁️❤️🙏🦘🐨🇦🇺
Where'd you get that net, WISH?
Beautiful
Nice fish congrats
Might need a bigger net lol great catch
Great catch! Kasmaster catches big fish.
That little popper was killer! I know that lake can be tough fishing at times. good job you did well!
Congrats man! what a beautiful fish! my 2 favorite lures Kastmaster and Jake's!
Those two always produce nice big fish!
Fun stuff! Wish the winter would pack up and visit the southern hemisphere already...
Right? I want to get up to the high lakes!
That’s wild fishing right next to buffalo
It’s another experience for sure. When he crosses the river, you cross to the other side 😅
🦬🎣❤
1:20 a lot of people may actually not know about all these tips so I would have to say that this is a pretty good video for educating
0:30 beautiful
Fun video. Great looking cutthroat. What hat is that you are wearing? I have been looking for something like that.
It’s a Stetson!
