Oh wow! I have this song by the HARLEM HAMFATS. They were a manufactured band, much like the Monkees, but in 1936 (when some record exec wanted to cash in on the growing crossover popularity of African American jazz artists like Satchmo and the goodtime blues of the jug band craze). They weren't even from Harlem, but they sounded like they were having a lot of fun and are fun to me. "Stick out your can" was some pretty racy humor for back then but it's just so quaint these days. But this band sounds more like they're trying to copy that jumpin' Louis Jordan, who came along a bit later; not very successfully but I love that they're trying, much like joe jackson would do in the early eighties- kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZpWh27Bqf8qyj5s.html

Underneath cold bridges where stone rivers run. I stand counting tear drops that trickle across the sun. The sky I painted yesterday Is falling around my ears. My long forgotten fears, Are washed away with tears. And as the night comes near- The shadows that are cast- Belong to no-one. Around the walls of brightly painted rooms where darkness shines. Stars gather jewelled thoughts are ripped from diamond minds. All upon their sweet sunday The sound of faceless clocks and unexpected knocks, Are simply keys and locks While farmers shrilly mocks The shadows ever cast upon his shivering shrines. Above a softly fallen feather waits and naked moon Gazing in eternal magic over sleepen rooms The bridge is warm in the light of day My tears have no names The towns spoke of shame Is fettered in its chains But no one is to blame- For the shadows that are cast by an unremembered tune.

I was intrigued by this record so I tried to track down their other single (there is no other like your mother/again and again) but while information about it exists I cannot seem to find audio of it anywhere on the internet. I tracked down recordings by a band called the thunderbolts which appears to be a previous incarnation of this band but nothing by The Aches 'N Pains except this video. Does anyone know where to find this recording without ordering an actual single of the song from overseas?

Unbelievable find, amazing that something great from the garage era is still being discovered
swaggiest drummer ever!
Wow, sounds GOOD even though its unpolished.
I make mp3 s of garage 1965-8. Captures the audio. Then to my itunes library on desktop to my phone. Works well. Love this!
Good!!!
Wow great!
A great gem that’s been unearthed and a great find 😊.
When this song starts off it sounds similar to the Yardbirds but then goes off in another.

i was expecting an original version of "Garbage Man" by the Cramps lol, this is still awesome!
Soulful vocals. There's a Motown touch to this garage record. Nice keys.
This is sixties garagepunk really.
what is "The End" is that the band?
yeah
