A lovely review - but is this scene really his thoughts from his coma? He does mention in this scene his facial disfigurement and arm reconstruction surgery. How would he know if he was still in a coma? I can't grasp what this scene is: An implanted memory from LE (not vanilla tinted views)? An earlier splice gone wrong (he remembers too much about the crash)? The final scene of the film (he was in a crash, in a coma, then wakes up at the end and foes to the park? Or as you describe above?
