She turned out beautifully! Love all the enhancements you added!
@@ruthforget253 Thank you!
I just finished mermaid wave (DAC). I have to kit down yet and am avoiding it. I made a few changes. I put in some bubbles in her hair and around her face and added a fairy dust color. I'm really pleased with the end result. I think I will do a spray finish on her. The worst thing about the kit was popping drills. I was surprised since it's a DAC, but yes, drills were all over the place in size and shape. I almost gave up twice, decided I'd finish it no matter what and I did. Glad to have it done. I'm getting ready to kit up the pink ragdoll cat. I don't think I'd ever purchase the one you finished, not my style, but it did turn out very nice. I always sing in my head, another one bites the dust... when I finish a painting. lol
@@katpraeuner9794 Love that song!! Thanks for watching!!
That turned out absolutely beautiful 🤩
@@Jeaniefulp Thank you!!
Lovely job and your use of the ABs, etc., all seem perfectly placed throughout the canvas.
@@susandoty8241 Thanks for watching!!
Early congrats on 10k! I'm subbed with both of my channels haha. Also congrats on finishing your oldest 5 kits, that is amazing!!!
@@ashleyhasdiamonds Thank you!!!
You did it! Looks great and your modifications really worked out well. Very pretty piece 😊
@@0523SHARON Thank you!!
Absolutely beautiful! I just finished Cherry Blossom Tree from DAC by Dakota Daetwiler. It is a VERY large kit, and I had like 1/5 of an art dot round screw top bottle with trash. The drills were AMAZING! Only had 2 colors that were subpar. I loved every minute of it. I'm about 1/4 of the way through Gamer Girl from JGS, and I have more trash drills than I did when I finished the DAC kit.
@@brandylangley1624 My Gamer Girl was from DIYMoon, but I loved that kit! Thanks for watching!!
I like to add AB's. Yours turned out great.
@@marshah5930 Thank you!!
The embellishments look great. I do agree with you on the skin tone, but again I know it would be a real pain to substitute all that
@@kathleenbalentine4003 It would have been, and I’m not sure I’m that artistic, to make it look good if I had tried. Thanks for watching!!
Considering the kit is from three years ago, I am not surprised at the issues you had. It just goes to show how far they have come and how much their quality has gotten better.
@@BellaLaLuna1726 It does! Thanks for watching!!
Was eager to see how this image would turn out. I agree with you about the face and arms but it would be a real chore to switch out all of those drills. Totally understandable that you didn't do that. You did a remarkable amount of switching as it was. Wow! Thanks, Daphne.💜🙏🏼💜
@@sylviakanel9766 It would have been! Thanks for watching!!
I like the embellishments. It came out great. Here’s to 10k🎉

You did a good job with the ab's you added in. At my pandas painting i added also a few ab's. But i need to remind myself where i wanted to place them. But it was the first time for me adding ab's.
@@diamondpaintingyoteun It is intimidating at first, but it’s so fun! Thanks for watching!!
C’mon guys! Let’s get Daphne to 10,000!!!!!🎉Your dancer turned out stunning! I’m not brave enough to try adding my own customization yet. You did a tremendous job. Sorry the drill experience was bad. I’m dealing with the clumping drills myself. It almost seems like it’s an impossibility for them to stick together so tightly like that - yet here we are 😖
@@DiamondsandDobermans It’s because the resin doesn’t dry all the way before they bag it up. Clumpy, smelly drills are the result. Thanks for watching!!
My philosophy is Do what makes you happy. Beautiful choices, beautiful job ❤
@@rosesmith6925 Thank you!!
Hi Daphne, congratulations on finishing your orginal five. I think the enhancement you made on Bellydancer was great. Next time I will vote.😊😊

Personally I think you should give yourself a break. My stash is not near as big as yours but I did do 3 instead of 5 and after doing 6 I was about to pull my hair out 😂 So I got out my DAC Spring Garden Gnomes and I’ll be danged if I didn’t have a bunch of concave and stuck together drills 🤪 I gave up and just watched the Olympics opening ceremony. 🤦♀️ BTW if you watched it did Lady GaGa have a plunger 🪠 on her head?😂🤣

I agree with less regrets, and more learning what doesn't end up working for you. What works for many may not work for some. I appreciate the tools and advices and the information of options ive found in the last year. A light pad is a big help for me as i have an older house with not great overhead light, also light sensitivity i don't really like main room lights anyway. Just my desk lamp throws too much shadow. I do use the yellow dog trays with the step. But thats a lot in how i shake and hold my trays, and what direction down a tray row i work. I absolutely do not like the angled work surface. And wouldn't go that route. Its too odd of an angle for my hands and arms, id lose so much precision. My storage flops I just use for the long term storage of leftover drills i hold on to. Some of my flop items, or ive upgraded further ive given to my aunt to try out. And some have worked for her. Still a great idea on a video.
@@mickrems1 Thanks for sharing!!
I have wasted massive amts of money on tools, storage and you name it. I have tried them all. I am not a fan of the tray you are using now. They sent me mangled trays with lids that do not fit. Also a few of mine have pulled apart in layers. My fav trays are Bijou Bliss and/ or Firefly. They are wonderful quality and blows (CP, Nyx N, Bella, etc) away. Hands down no comparison. A lot of my hand turned pens that I spent $50 -100 on have yellowed. It is clear to me some of them use cheap resin. I do have a few I really like but I bought well over 100. Stupid me. I use maybe 5. Cover minders are not my thing. I see the same pins (they purchase off Temu so cheap and glue a magnet on them) that sell for $2 or less selling on Etsy for $10 or more. Plus I am worried about my dog getting a magnet. I have seen too many incidents with things like this working in a peds ICU. Not great to have around. Never used a light pad. I see fine. I do have a few though. It is all a trap and not a need. 😂
I also fell into the same trap with premium kits. I had 300 or more. I came to realize I would not do them and I threw a good portion of them out. I have wasted well over $10,000 on DP things. Ughhh.
This one will be so cute! ❤
@@ruthforget253 I think so too!!
She’s nice and colorful but the border isn’t necessary. It takes away from the colorfulness of the image.
I think maybe it's to make the canvases feel a bit different, but I can always make changes if I feel the need. Thanks for watching!!
The show called «from» it’s kind of post apocalyptic but more like a solve the riddle and you can go back to normal/home kind of way. A bit like maze runner but as a series
I will check it out! Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Daphne, cute canvas. I will put in my wish list.
Thanks for watching!!
I’m learning from your experience. Thanks! I’m really curious about the painting you’re working on in the video. If you don’t mind is it one that’s available?
Unfortunately, it is an older Diamond Art Club called Belly Dancer that is no longer available. :(
Glad you are doing a cat canvas.😊 I suck at square drills, so I will get a chance to see you do it. What does AB drills stand for? Do you have a video showing how to use cover paper?
@@trishwilliams3393 AB stands for Aurora Borealis. They are drills with an iridescent coating to make them a bit shinier than regular drills. Cover papers are just non stick papers you can use to cover your canvas instead of the see-through plastic cover that comes on it. Thanks for watching!!
Kindred Spirits is my current WIP and it’s gorgeous!!!! Lot of dark colors, but bright colors as well!!! I’m probably 20 hours away from completion. ❤❤
@@vlwindham Good to know! Thanks for sharing!!
My color code 3371 is FULL of trash. Hope your kit is better!
@@vlwindham Me too!!
This is one that I have been eying recently… maybe this is a sign that I should buy it! 😊
Do you know if using glue dots to place AB drills can ruin the sparkle on them? My current kit has a few ABs & to me, it looks like the sparkle is being removed when using glue dots to place. I'm wondering if it's my imagination. Is it best to use wax instead when placing ABs? Thank you!
@@catgranny You can sometimes pull the AB coating off the drills, but I’ve only had it happen a few times, not on every drill. If you’re worried about it, you can use the regular wax or like a wax pen. Thanks for watching!!
I just started diamond art, I'm using the pink pin and pink wax so far, not sure how I feel the pink pen yet, I've only done 1 diamond art, it was a 30 by 30 American eagle with red white and blue colors colors, plus some more colors, have you tried temu to get some diamond art, that where I buy mine from, I got 3 more right now to do, hopefully I can start one this weekend, I only can work on them on weekends due to being busy all weekdays
I've never purchased from Temu or AliExpress, though I did buy a few from Amazon when I first started. Thanks for watching!!
Love the cats
Cool! This was fun! I’m also a dog person but it’s a nice kit. 🥰🥰
I bought this one, I also have Luna by the same artist. I have done every jigsaw puzzle I could find by her (Marjorie Sarnat). I also own some of her color books. I am not a fan of square drills, I will go slow. I honestly can’t wait to see your progress😊
I'm excited to start working on it!! Thanks for watching!!
I didn’t see the poll, but this is definitely the canvas I would have picked. Love it! And in hope you have a lot of fun with it 👍
I'm sure I will! Thanks for watching!!
I'm with you with the square rulers. the round ones I love. But when I use them I don't run my fingers over them I have a press pen roller use on them lightly.
I roll over them too. I got rid of my square ruler, but I did keep a couple different sizes of the rounds. Thanks for watching!!
🐞 the cat one is going to be fun with all those wonderful colors!!

I smile every time you say you're not a cat person. Because you seem like the perfect type of person to be completely obsessed once they get a kitten. 😂❤
@@PerpetualPrograstinator They are very cute, but I am very allergic! Thanks for watching!!
I did Luna a year or two ago which is the single cat by same artist in this design, and I was worried that it would be dark and wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I LOVED it when I was done! I have this kit to do and just recently got "Kleo Trio" which is the trio of cats in the same design style by this artist.. I missed the poll, but glad this one won. I'm a cat person.. can't have enough cat DP's 🙂 I like the idea of a poll though to keep us all engaged and to make us feel like we are contributing. Thanks a bunch! I'm excited to see how this one turns out.. it's on my list to do first quarter next year... I'm a bit neurotic and have my kits planned out (for the most part) for the rest of the year.
