I found my dog having seizures over a few days. During a blood test we found his red blood cell count low. abit of research found he was bleeding from his spleen. Our vets didnt seem to be aware of anemia induced seizures. We got his bleed fixed and his red count back to normal. He hasnt seized since. Have you seen this before ?
Is the myth vanilla ice cream or honey after the episode okay for dogs and their glucose?
That's OK to give if you want but it's only really diabetic dogs on insulin or very small breed dogs and puppies that are at risk of low blood glucose, for others giving them this won't hurt but won't really help either. Glucose powder, sugar, or jam are other options - it's all about the sugar
Does anyone’s dog scream and cry in pain with this? My dogs had X-rays but the vet couldn’t see anything in them but says it still could be this or herniated disc. She’s not defecating or eating much either. She can walk but seems to not want to she just lays here and yelps big time if she’s moved sometimes. She’s on 4 different meds too
Thank you for the valuable info. My dog developed a lump post injection and it didnt disappear even after 2 weeks , we visited vet, she injected the lump and nothing came out , they gave toxo-moxo 500 & trypsin-chymotrypsin tablets for 10 days and im doing the heat pad treatment twice a day..any suggestions from you is much appreciated . Also she didnt tell me y the lump is formed .
halos are useless for large dogs but ty anyways well cope one day at a time.
My cat has arthritis in her back legs, she is now walking very stiff, and sometimes can’t scratch her ears very well, she has had this for sometime, she is 15, will it get worse, the vet does know and gave her very strong pain killer medicine. That was sometime ago, is there any exercises I can do for her?
reading through several comments on this video and horrified to see some of the heartless people comenting saying they will buy anti freeze on purpose to poison their local cats....some people are cruel the animals dont deserve it you wouldnt like it if someone came along trying to do that to you so leave the poor cats alone
My dog ate a whole bunch of grapes. Idk what to do.
The music is incredibly distracting.. I had to give up after a couple of minutes 😢
Hi my dog is going on being off clindamycin for a few days and isn’t eating as much as he was on the meds or drinking any ideas or how to restore him back to his normal eating habits
Sounds like he may not have fully recovered and needs longer or additional/different treatment
@@OurPetsHealth thanks for the quick response, so to narrow it down I stoped giving him the meds late Saturday & it’s Thursday now, the first day which was Sunday off the meds I gave him 3 eggs and he ate it just fine, now he doesn’t want chicken and seems to not be going poop I feel like it’s his stomach upset because the last time he pooped was going on 2 days
@@OurPetsHealth also my doctor seems very good into natural stuff although now regretting even going to vet I just thought this would target his dental issues not mess his stomach up
Thank you for the videos😢

Ty so much you help me save my fur baby life today! She is now at the vet and without the extra steps you provided she may have not made it! You never think it will happen to you
Thank you for letting me know. I hope your dog makes a full recovery and is back home soon
Hello, my 5 months old puppy ate half the soap bar, i took him to vet they induced the vomit. His bloodwork showed ALT level 291 u/L and GGT 4 U/L. Do you think this could be because of soap and rhe levels will fall back to normal? Thanks
sad
My cat is even marking me Marking house is even not Enough Bro just sprays on my legs and runs away
IN which age male cat start spraying
Hey Dr. Alex can you teach me about vet it's always been my dream if you can Dm me and I have no experience but I got all 6 right on the last video but I feel like I can do better but I wanna learn
Thank you, I have concerns with this topic.

Commercial video
Thank you.
You're welcome!
My dog of 15 years had about 5 seizures in matter of mins. He died few hrs later on June 22. Seeing seizures happen in real time was frightening. I felt so helpless and not able to do anything. I miss so much now and house is very quite now.
I'm so sorry for your loss
Summary please....im tired of toooo much talking n talkinggg
then watch it had double speed...
Do you also have itching problem 😂😂😂
no, do you?
She Never sites where to find or research the actual “studies” that she spouts off about! She just likes to blab about and use the term “ a recent study” in order to project and sell her agenda. If you are to be taken at all seriously Miss Dr, then tell us where to find said “studies” and if not, then you are simply yet another paid for mouth piece serving your own paid for master. Shit or get off the pot!
We recently put down our 10 year old chihuahua due to this. I'm not completely sure if he just had vestibular disease because he also had suddenly gone blind and sometimes even bled from his eye, and he started acting erratically and strangely. He had frequent syncope episodes with eye darting. He even started having trouble peeing and pooping and even swallowing food, but I'm almost sure he was still kind of hungry. I know it's common to think we could've done more for him, and I know he was really suffering, but I really can't help but think he could've gotten better if he had gotten the right treatment instead of being bombarded with medicines. It's so hard to believe he's gone when he was just fine a few months ago. I wish that little baby was still by our side
I'm very sorry for your loss. It does sound like there was more to it than "simple" vestibular disease
?
Very helpful I like the towel tip ❤
Hopefully you won't need to use it!
Vets give meds that are not needed, vets are worse than doctors and also prey on sick animals owners and draw every last penny out of them to put the kids in private school..bolox
What a load of 💩
My lady has been driving me crazy about this. I sent her this and now she knows our dog is ok! Thank you so much.
Happy to help!
Will this also cause a swelling around the anal area. I just got my Shih Tzu puppy yesterday. The stool is soft with only a very spotting amount of blood within the stool. I am concerned because these dogs can be very picky eaters and I don't want to start messing with her food just yet she is 8 weeks old today.
Getting tired of this. Nothing works
Please it takes couple seconds to see if an animal of human are obese
1:35 was that a side arm stick for cricket training? 🤣
Yes, but I think their use as a ball thrower for dogs came first - not certain though!
My cat is now only 5.4 pounds. She is literally skin and bone. She does have a history of hyperthyroidism now new ones said CKD but the biggest problem is she is secreting oily secretions from the anus. She has a greasy appearance almost all the time and after bathing and within two days, she is oily again she eats all day long and she’s not getting any weight and she does have large stools she had Giardia and was treated for it now her test is coming back negative. beside myself, I just don’t know what to do. I want to see if I can help her gain weight. She is starting to get a little picky where she wants to be eating all the time but not necessarily what I’ve been given her.
Is she being treated for her thyroid disease?
@@OurPetsHealth yes she is being treated for her thyroid disease and it has been out of whack, but her most recent lab says that she is at the high end of the normal now but she still continues to have a vivacious appetite and her weight is low she also treated for Giardia and her last test came back normal. I think they are suspecting possible pancreas but the test would require her to fast for 12 to 16 and the doctor says she would be fine but having kidney disease and all her problems I wouldn’t want her to fast for hours. I think she’s barely on, but she looks happy. Otherwise she purrs when petted would really like her to gain some weight
She has had her thyroid out of whack for while and she’s not developed this appetite until I would say since March that’s when she had three urinary track infections and it put her immediately into kidney disease. Her creatinine was 4 and bun 52 phosphorous a hi normal. Her liver enzymes were also elevated so I started giving her a supplement that has milk thistle Sam E. And dandelion she doesn’t really like it so I can’t get very much into her and her food. I think I might have to just try the milk thistle separate.
Sorry for all the typos Siri isn’t cooperating
Aim for treatment is for t4 levels to be low normal so sounds like change in dose is needed. Vet might want to check with lab as pancreatitis testing doesn't normally require fasting
My cat started gagging but stopped but she did it for a couple days and nothing really happened after that :’ She acts perfectly fine these days
my dog would shake her head when somethinjg was happening in her brain. Vets where I live are useless. They were the ones that gave me the antibiotic that caused her seizures intiially. My baby had a seizure at night and there was not vet open to take her to so I had to sit with her for 12 hours before vet opened.
i wish I had known about glutamate triggers and the also the benefits of magnesium so i'm here to share with you all. My dog had seizers from meat except wild caught salmon with veg was okay and fruits. If i could go oback i would put her on a fruit diet for a while as per advice from a lady i know who rescues dogs from shelters.
I have noticed our ex-Stray cat has started spraying around the house. Mostly my stuff.. I took him in about a year ago after I had to put down two of my cats, only had one old lady left. He got a bit more confident to approach the house as both the cats I had to put down were big tomcats. But I had also gotten 3 new kittens just before he got to come in. Before he got neutered he didn’t spray. He has now gotten very comfy around the house and around the other cats and has started spraying. I came to this video after just catching him spraying right by their food bowls.. I do have multiple litter boxes and food bowls placed away from the litter boxes. He does not seem stressed at all anymore and is a very relaxed cat. I can’t boil it down to a specific reason. He gets along well with the other cats. I really don’t know what to do anymore, I have never had this issue with a cat before.. Any tips and tricks are welcome.
@@potatobirb2471 same here i have 2 cats who spray every where. We live in a tiny house. I dont know what to do anymore. Our house smells terrible as they always spray everywhere including me. 😭 both of them are not yet fix. I dont want to give them up because they are all like my children.
Thanks. I was freaking out. My dog had 3 grapes. Doodle
🐮 💩 DO NOT FEED YOUR CATS DRY FOOD ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
why not? evidence please
This is my problem with vets nowadays. If a dog is ill or unwell and you have no money, tough luck. Vets aren't there for the passion of saving and working with animals. Vets are like opioid doctors now. Everything wrong with your dog they tell you to come in, you pay for facility fee's and medical fee and doctor labors. If you google anything about your pet and problems they will instantly tell you to spend money and go to a vet. People are already in debt for their own medical bills, should they give up their pets so they don't have to go into deeper debt with their pet bills? shameful vets nowadays.
So how am I supposed to feed my family and survive if I don't charge for my training and experience? This is my problem with some pet owners nowadays, they don't accept that the vet is not responsible for their financial situational and in many cases complete lack of financial planning. Entitled much?
@@OurPetsHealth I'm sure there's enough pet owners out there for you to make a good living without gouging the public for every day and cent. Entitled? There's homeless soldiers out there and people with mental illness that need and can benefit from having a pet. This is where your industry has gone, profit over people. If you want to make money be a dentist.
So you still can't trim the nails alone this way I think at this point my cats nails can jusy grow back into him Im running out of ideas and will power to force this
We are going through this right now with our 14 year old precious mutt Roxie. It started 6 days ago. We woke up to her panting and licking us in distress. She fell off the bed😢instead of using her ramp, which she has due to ACL surgeries in both back legs. We guided her to back yard using Help 'em Up harness, which has been a godsend since her leg injuries. She circled and wobbled and collapsed. I thought she was dying and it was traumatic. She has in last 6 days puked once (a LOT!), got bad diarrhea one day, but other days eating just fine. First day she had darting eyes uncontrollably. That was sad coz she couldn't rest! We are still wobbly and I hand feed and water her and assist with getting outside, but she rests well in her bed. I will update when she recovers! I hoped she be better by now but I heard it can even take two months. I had ignorant vet who told us to consider euthanasia!
Remember, if inflation stops, it only means that prices stop increasing. For prices to decrease, we must experience deflation. Deflation is generally a really bad sign in capitalism. Best we can hope for is for inflation to maintain a small, consistent rate and for everyone's pay raises (or rises, as you Brits say) to increase on par with it. Hey, a gal can dream, right? 😂
I'll join you in that dream. Even if deflation happens I doubt those who set some of the feed will reduce them as their costs reduce (it's not typically the vet on the ground who sets the fees)
Here in the United States, there are just two mega-corporations that own the vast majority of vet practices (Banfield and VCA), as opposed to your six. Of course inflation is at an all-time high and the expense of running a veterinary practice is greater than ever, yet I can't help but suspect that these mega-corporations are lining their pockets, just as American hospitals for humans do. Pet healthcare resembles human healthcare more and more each year, and speaking from an American perspective, that's not a good thing.
I hear you. Corporate structure basically introduces a layer of management that is not present in more traditional (smaller) practices, and I'm not sure how much the promise of economies of scale is balanced out by large business inefficiencies. Plus there are shareholders or venture capitalists who need significant returns on investment - again not present in the traditional model. This is all on top of the increasing cost of more advanced levels of care...
Golden paste is a natural anti-inflammatory. But, it's contraindicated in patients on anti-coagulants.
I have a very lovable kitty that was obviously dumped. He sprays EVERYWHERE. I never asked for him, I just felt bad for him and didn't want him to starve. We got him fixed. Didn't help. We clean up after him immediately if we see it. It's so bad... this one dumped cat has created so much yuck 🤮 I honestly have no choice but to surrender the poor boy. 😕 I'm grateful I don't rent or I'd owe so much $$ from his massive damage. He has to go. I can't just not let him in the house as I have a kitty window for my cat. At my wits end.... he just needs to go. I tried EVERY single one of your suggestions. NONE WORKED.
