In the initial release of 1.36 Mamluks did get permaclaims on the entire Anatolia region. This was reduced to some areas of Anatolia a patch later, explaining the hole in Kurdistan

Dude you know you could have taken the Syrian cores and just deved it to complete the mission. They are going to be your cores anyways. Zero diplo and time to annex. It’s what I do in my timmy games too.

which ideas do you recomend for this nation?
Personally, I like to open with Aristocratic ideas to stack CCA, Manpower, and Leader Siege. From there, I do Admin as my next idea to stack CCR and get the gov capacity. Finally, I pick up Espionage for the AE reduction, siege ability, and diplomat. Plus, with Aristocratic you get a policy for more CCA
