They’re pretty deadly those Jawslingers. Everything eats them. I’m usually using BathyMaps to find likely looking ground in around that 40m-50m line and then I head out and sound around those areas looking for isolated rocks as they tend to hold the better reds.

Chinaman fight you all the way to the top. Trout come up like a wet rag. We are lucky to fish in NQ with a plethora of different reef fish. You certainly want to keep your honey holes a secret they are great grounds. 🤠🎣🐟🤩🤙👌👍✅️

Hey mate love your vids. How come you guys usually fish at the back of the boat? Does that mean your drift shute is on the front of the boat? Where’s the best place to put the drift bag?
Hey mate - thanks for watching the vids. Much appreciated! We usually fish out the back as just more room and we generally use the motor to get the right angle for our drift. Well put a drogue out if the wind is up but we just tie it off to a back corner as we’re always casting the opposite way ie always casting ahead of our drift.

That’s about 175-180 We got one in the billfish shootout that went 205kg tournament winning fish and it was a lot thicker in the shoulders than that fish. I’m not dissing or anything I’m just saying a 200kg plus blue wouldn’t really have quite the energy to launch itself out of the water
Hey mate - no diss taken lol. That was my first blue hook up so I was like a 13 year old kid. I tend to over exaggerate fish at the best of times lol. Had no hope on a mackerel rode regardless of the size but it was a fun hook up.

Mate for the price oceans legacy deep element its cheaper than a terez i think theyve got bit more balls to em and they're an aussie owned mob. Don't know if youve felt one or tried em but i rate em and like helping an aussie based company

I high sticked me terez heaps of times up the reef in march didn't snap like that thing did.
I did high stick it a bit but had another one snap on the bottom of the wind so might get a Terez!

How long was that rod that snapped? I dont like tall rods for that reason, always a chance these graphite things snap if ya trying to land a good/angry fish on ya own. Them tiny cobia very nice to eat if kept in a slurry
About 7 foot mate. Second one I’ve had snap so no more for me
@robtaylorshotwater I know the taller rods get a better jigging action but I like the 6ft bit more forgiving with tough usage. Hopefully the cants send ya another one say you'll deleted the video if they do haha fked if ill get one after seeing that
