Those were the days, remember it like it was yesterday. Up in the Bay and the Inland Empire, Badlands we were Gods. Santa Monica not so much.

I don’t remember this key hole? I remember the washboard, some egg bowl, and a long half pipe that wasn’t really rideable. The viewing decks were cool at WSP. I remember getting a Pegasus “rocker” board, Bennett Hi Jackers, and PowerFlex 3’s or 4’s at Gremic’s skate shop in Los Gatos. Skateboard shops have a unique smell to them. There also was a Van’s shoe store at “Beta” in Almaden. I liked hanging out at Almaden Valley Bike Shop, talking to Mrs. Ruffner. She was a neat lady. Man, it was great growing up in Almaden in the 70’s-80’s!

@@martinSWE Much appreciated for showing this, my friend. I have one 8mm reel of when Tony Alva and some of his team visited our skate shop, Imi Jimi, in Denver, Colorado in 1987, and we fully shredded a local pool. I was on Alva's "B-team" and only 16 at the time. Good memories.

Are you the legendary Eddie Elguera, "El Gato", himself, El Gato Classics?! I have a copy of EVERY Thrasher magazine from the very beginning until 1990, my high school graduation year. I'm certain you're in one somewhere and now just need your autograph to make that issue unique! No kidding!

Skating from 75-76 to 79 took a huge step forward. Like two completely different things
I was just thinking the same thing. I began skating in '76 and what we were doing back then seems prehistoric to what TA is doing here.
Man that is some classic footage right there. Spirit of 79 forever!
I was there as well .. truly amazing, I'll never forget it - really a NorCal vs SoCal shootout!!
Blackhawk was banned from Winchester for ripping through park with no helmet. The Blackhart van was notorious for weed and free stickers . 1980
as a 13 year old I thought Blackheart was the coolest. smokin thai
I think salba won
That's freaky. I was there on that day. Aug/Sept 1978. I was 14. Met Tom Simms and Stacy, Frank Blood and George Olsen. Thanks for this.
