MEANING OF ARSHAVIDYALAYA
The word Arshavidyalaya is composed of three words - Arsha, Vidya and Alaya (आर्षविद्याआलय). Arsha comes from the word Rishi, meaning Seer, (मन्त्रदृश्टा) - one who has been able to understand the reality of the self through the verses (मन्त्राः) of the Vedas. This understanding, this knowledge (विद्या) coming down from the Rishis over thousands of years in the teaching lineage, is called Arshavidya.
