Railway videos from the 1990s/2000s.
I started watching trains on the Lickey Incline at the tender age of 4 way back in the days of steam. Have been photographing and videoing the railway scene on and off ever since.
Locations include, The Lickey Incline, Stafford and Crewe on the West Coast Main Line, Newport and Cardiff in South Wales and Dawlish in Devon.
Huge vintage diesel fan and go to as many Galas as I can.

Actually the person who said that the class 37 couldn’t or probably was to weak to pull the 60 and unloaded metals up the incline is probably wrong because that’s a 37/7 and along with the 37/8 and 37/9s they were the most powerful in-fact they were the same power as the 56s and 58s they were the modified versions they had tractive effort of 62.000 lb and weighed 120 tons so yeah that 37/7 could of defo hauled that train by itself
43013 went from virgin to gw to network rail
good stuff
Class 47s basically running the show back then.
Great video. Was it really 30 years ago……
A never before seen green
i really enjoyed this video . god bless ya
Proper traction
I absolutely love the Loadhaul Class 56 and the Connex South Central Slam Door Unit
lickey ???
Hopefully when 7325 aka 9303 is back in steam she’ll be back on the mainline as well of course the SVR 😊
Interesting, so many ECS moves!!!
1 year later,, Still Brilliant 👍👍😁
Hopefully I can upload more clips soon . Plenty more to see. Watch this space as they say
Looks like the 47 is helping out the power cars was there a mechanical problem with the hsts or was it they need help to get up the lickey incline
Speedomoter failure
How fast 17 years goes by
& the last time a diesel gala happened on the line. 😢
I thought the loco was green but the light just makes it look like it is.
Same, I was wondering when they painted it in that livery then I realised after your comment
Love that sulzer noise,😊😊
top stuff
Cracking vid, plenty of Sulzer thrash. Poor 'North Star' red name plate on a red loco. 🤔🤔👍👍😁
Awsome😊
When are they going to stop these engines belching out pollution?
It's a British tradition!!
@stevejohnston2138: 😂
Just as I remember it as a youth. Another top upload ❤
Thanks for your kind comment
Bouncing Choppers on Nuke waste . Did those 92s still have 3rd rail shoes fitted. Thunderbirds seemed alot busier than these days. The one at Crewe barely moves . 😀😀👍😎😎😎
Alot more 37s working than I remember. It was mostly 31s and 20s when we were spotting . Gargoyles and Choppers . We certainly burnt alot of coal back then, never gave all the Mgr trains a thought. Except for ' what was on the front ' lol. Another little gem of how busy Bescot used to be. Eagerly awaiting the next video. Big thanks for taking the time to upload and share . 👍👍😀😎😎😎
Great comment, thanks for taking the time. Next upload may take a while - my laptop crashed and the one I'm " borrowing" hasn't got a DVD player. I'm slowly working my back through time though so there should be more 20s, 31s and 37s to come !
I can hear someone say those were the days . . . 🤣👍👍👍
Indeed they were.
Another great vid of mostly now history 😢
Glad you enjoyed it
What I would do to have these days back.. Great stuff, thanks for the memories. Subbed you 👍
Nice. Right place, right time. Sometimes you get really lucky.
Yes indeed. I certainly was in this case, I seem to remember. Was cycling past Garringtons Bridge and saw the 47 backing onto the HST. Just had enough time to get up to the station
Right the end EWS 37042 .Which i have in O Gauge..See Norwood West Garden Railway EWS 37042
P R O M O S M 🤷
smoketastic
🚂👍
Both power cars definitely running, so probably a cab-related issue (AWS or suchlike.) Would have plenty of power up the bank!
👍👍👍👍
Seen that done more than once 🤣🤣
Nice video Pete. What locations? I don't recognise them......
Cheers Dave. In order Lea Marston just north of Water Orton on the main line looking in both directions, Tamworth high level and low level, Garringtons Bromsgrove, and finally Bescot.
@@ermorailways3866 I only 5 years old when you filmed them!
Oh happy days !! My first job on BR was checker, Dorridge in 73. I used to assist with scotching the cartic fours an private owner carflats for MAT. Back then they did not have the screens on. They came about after many lineside stone throwing incidents, smashing glass usually but body damage too. And the Didcot Dusties!! Don't get caught lineside as they pass, it's like being shot with a machine gun 🤣🤣
Classic vid, great variety of traction.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
Last time I was at Toton, 56031 was sat outside, brand new . Lifetime ago. 🙀🙀👍😎
Cracking little shot. So that's what my dad looked like. He Fired many trains, Shrewsbury to Paddington. Life got easier with the Diesel era, a Fireman with no Fire , lol. Just a pair of feet up in the front window. Joy riding the rails as a 2nd Man . 😁👍👍😎
Amazing footage, really enjoyed this. 👍
Excellent vid again ... Thanks for sharing. 👍👍😀😀😀
Lol, 426 Vale of Rheiddol changed her name to Mt Vesuvius..... I thought it was 428 David Lloyd George that was prone to going bang. I still remember my Dad breaking 428, being dragged back to Salop by 431. Yes those were the days . Sadly all gone, but what great memories we made . Glad your still posting these vids .😀😀👍👍👍👍
As you say, great memories. Glad youre still watching and enjoying the clips - there are plenty more to come. Originally set up purely as a way of us to view my vids, i never envisaged the site would attract so many subscribers and nice comments. They are all much appreciated.
@@ermorailways3866 your very welcome. Keep posting, I will keep watching. 😁👍👍
Those were the days . . . . 👍👍👍
Indeed they were. Its just not the same nowadays
Give me a loud proud 37,40,50 over a 66.
Great vid. I love class 50s but never seen one in motion, I’ve seen them all though but stabbled
🚂👍
Good watch, thanks.
