Nice! Did you fill her up in return? It shows 76 miles dte😅. Designed in Sweden and built in Finland these Viggens. The OG9-3 convertibles were all built in Finland btw. The Viggen production line was entirely in Finland (Valmet). Many more Saab models were built in Finland😉.

Everyone wants their own rags to riches story, even if they cant quite afford the riches! That's what tends to happen as these cars fall to their 3rd, 4th, and 5th owners... they individually rack up years of deferred maintenance, replacements, etc which all add up to an eye watering amount that would've been manageable if completed over time, when necessary. Can take an awesome car from a fun off road truck to a full restoration project in the span of a weekend. I had an early build US-spec 06 L320 that was phenomenal, and that's due to keeping on top of oil changes and wear items for what was a 10 year old car, at the time, and buying one that had been well kept by it's previous owners.

ahh the torque steer of these old 9-3s. It's what got me really into SAABs. There's nothing quite like it. Great review!! Subbed :)

The first attempt at performance cars ?. Err no. 99 Turbo, 900 T16S, the 9000 Aero ?. Or even the 1992 9000 CS Carlsson which remains the quickest 0-60 Saab ever produced. Paul @ The SAAB Clinic.

For a car presenter you know very little about about the car - not knowing why they put plastic trims on the wheels! You need to be more professional. Ps. you're not a real petrol head, you don't know enough about these cars - you're a casual driver that posted a video about a car.

For a video only 4 months old, you have the old model (80x) since you quote 6.5 seconds to 100kph. The new model (85x) which was available when the video was released takes 5.6 seconds to 100kph.

Loved the SAABs that I’ve owned - including a 9-5 HOT Aero Estate which had the same 2.3 motor and 250bhp I think. And my son loved going to school in our 9-3 convertible with the roof down.

My 2001 Saab Viggen convertible has been my daily driver for 13 years. Still a great looking and performing car! FYI - First and second gear is electronically limited to keep you from driving into a hedge. Also, my 2001 does have traction control.

Really enjoyed the video! Well done. Just for some "extra credits" (i am a swede and "of the period" were these were all that and a bag of moose steak). Tha major thing with the Viggen was that it was the only combination of the 2,3 Engine and the smaller Chassis, otherwise only the 9000 and later 9-5 had the 2,3. The 9-3 Turbo and Aero made due with the 2.0 That's why These wer SO popular among enthusiasts of the time as the engine could with almost no money invested be boosted to 280+ PS and even then they were under-stressed. Enjoying the content good work!

It's so easy to drive this car I think I saw a dog drive it but definitely a 12-year-old boy £45000 for a hatchback 😂😂 and 3000 + for an exhaust with a 4 pot 2 l doesn't even sound good, waste of money

The biggest difference was the Viggen had the 2.3 turbo charged engine the rest had the 2.0 engine. Saab were the masters of the turbo chargers before everyone else got on board.

How can regeneration slowing a car be any different to gentle braking? Probably the uneasy feeling is just not being as relaxed when driving a new system.

I've just purchased the Style in New Zealand. I've noticed a few differences in other countries. We don't have the v6 , 4 auto options and I see the tail lights are different as well. I enjoy driving mine and the only fault I wish one could turn the engine stop/start off permanently.
