Full transparency, we also like to control our own adventures as much as we can control anything. Translation? We don't put our travel plans into the hands of others. We have too many control issues for that. 😉

Sorry we missed this. Not where we stayed, but places have them. This resort was small. We used a ferry.

was it cold during early morning and night
We went in October. It’s hard to say what cold is, because cold feels differently to people based on where they live. We live north of the mid-Atlantic, but south of the northwest. So for October, from what we recall, no, it wasn’t cold, to us. I’m trying to recall if we brought a light jacket or sweater to breakfast, but I don’t recall. We went out at night and were fine shorts, capri pants, and t-shirts. Again it’s possible we brought something with us just in case it got chilly, but I don’t recall needing them.

Hi DJ. No, it wasn’t. Very little was free.
At this resort, there were several packages. The one we got included credits for certain recreation, so our credits were deducted when we participated in this kind of thing. Otherwise, you paid outright.

Great ideas! Baby aspirin and compression socks are things I would not have thought of... And totally agree about investing, especially for a special vacation.
Yes. We were familiar with the possibility of developing blood clots on long flights. We got them for our trip to Singapore, Thailand, and Japan in January 2020. We also Frank’s lots of water, as you learned in this video and got up to walk around. The flight from Newark to Tokyo was 14 hours. And it was another seven to Thailand.
Thanks for such a genuine and enthusiastic review! We are staying there just for a couple of nights in the middle of our first trip to CR and can't wait! We are also not resort people, but this one looks amazing :)

Please make sure you check the weather if you plan to go up table mountain using the cable car. There's also websites to check if the cable cars are running because they are shutdown if the wind is too strong

Hello! Looks amazing! I’m staying here soon and I was wondering how you book activities and spa treatments before you arrive as you have suggested?
Contact the resort (they’ll route you to the correct place if you’re unsure). Ask for the activities brochure and if you’re staying in the over water villas, also ask for the ferry schedule. This way, you can plan your activities according to the schedule. And ask for the times and days you’d like. They won’t start taking the reservations until 30-45 days prior to your arrival.

What was the name of the restaurant you went to in Sintra? Would you recommend it, the sangria looks great.
The name of the restaurant is Paço Real. The sangrias were good. We shared the pizza. We weren’t fans. The meat was too porky tasting. Since that’s the only thing we ate, we can’t make a far assessment. I checked Google just now. They have three stars on Google and three on Trip Advisor. I’m not surprised by that.

Yes! They could be in most places. I believe even around the pool, though they are not allowed in the pool.

It was a great. We didn’t set out to have a culinary exploration that day. The cooking class was scheduled. Since we hadn’t made it to the TimeOut Market, we added it to the list. We didn’t get to our desired restaurant before reaching starving levels so we ate where we could get seated with a wait.
