DIY for "The Regular Guy"...videos on auto repairs/mods, computers/electronics, custom DIY creations, home renovations, and the occasional product review.
I enjoy videoing these projects or 'tasks' that I do myself to save money that others would rather pay some one else to do. I do not consider myself an expert and many jobs shown I am performing them for the very first time. The content on this channel will be fairly random as many times I don't even know what is coming next myself thus will document my make/break/fix life as it unfolds.

Thank you for this review. It is very versatile and I like that.
Okay that's fine and dandy but what about the cat?
They have their own channel. www.youtube.com/@DansHouseofBengals
What was the point of this video, Fix the stupid title
I just fill my clean coffee cup with water to measure it, then pour it in. I really enjoy what you pour in is what comes out, its perfect.
38 degrees is not cold enough for beer though, do you think that this would give you the ability to get down more like 30 degrees?
Yes, that is where I have mine set nowadays, the thermometer confirms it.
@@diymakerdan Dang....I had one of these and gave it away. NOw I have a magic chef, the 10.1 cubic inch one with teh freezer on top. Damn thing closest I can get is around 34 degrees still not cold enough but a lot colder than my Danby the best that thing would do was 40. Same exact thermostat so I feel stupid for upgrading. The Magic Chef has a control board so I can't even tweak that at all.
Great video. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!
Just buy a new key and program it at home. It takes 30 .minutes 😊
I said fuq that, and just reprogrammed a new fob and just replaced the key blade, i now have 3 fobs programmed 🤣😭 they also have individual rubber buttons to replace as needed
Do i have to make my own connector? I've seen usb to ob2 connectors online ?
Build or buy, the choice is yours.
My bed frame is a light wood. Do the screws show on the outside?
Thanks for your video I'm in the middle of replacing mine on my 2000 GTP glad to know don't have drop sub frame, thanks again.
Never heard of the spray bottle method of extraction. Nice MacGyver hack.
similar damage on my 84. Are they relatively similar? I know the hood is a one year only due to the air induction
Yes, pretty much the same.
Love mine!
38 degrees is not cold enough, I want my drinks at 34 degrees
Same soundcard, same music :)
Nice job thk. For you video.
Thanks for watching Oscar!
Everyone complaining about him not showing him actually removing the sway bar……If you listen to what he’s SAYING, he tried to remove the links but they broke. If you can’t figure out how to take yours off, call a mechanic. He showed you got to remove a bushing, at least on one side, the other is exactly the same! After removing bolts from the bushing brackets he tells you he has to jack up the control arm and it “pretty much pulled it straight out. There was a little bit of a tug at the end but once I gave it a tug it pulled straight through”. Do you people seriously need a visual for every little detail?
I'm sure this wasn't a fun series to make, but I really appreciate it. I had identical damage on the driver's side and these videos are the reason I was able to keep & rebuild my car
Perhaps one the best comments received ever. Glad the series helped you to restore your ride.
You sure they're called nipples Mate?
Great video!! I bought one and I'm absolutely loving it. No idea why Bunn is completely ignored by the mainstream coffee world... I managed to get a Bunn MCU for about $50 shipping included :D
Brand new or used?
@@diymakerdan Used. Looks like it was refurbished by amazon based on some stickers. Used it today, worked amazing, super good taste. It was an auction starting at $20 and I won it!
The best inflator you can get go to home depot and get their brand Ridgid!! Pair it with a rigid two amp battery and your good. Some of the features include a quick release so you don't have to thread on the valve stem. Quick release, turn the Digital dial to the correct inflation and the machine does the rest. It even shuts off automatically.
I think you have the only and best video that shows an in depth step by step install and adjustments. Great job.
Thanks 👍
I have the same chrome wheels as you do.
Doing a nice job Dan.
Where were you able to source your parts? Did you find them locally or order them online? I need a hood and I'm curious.
Found them locally, found a guy through a parts ad that does salvage with C4's and Camaros. Shipping on a hood would be outrageous, plus best to inspect before you buy.
You might mention that to change the bulb in the front parking lights the bumper cover has to come off. You are doing a great job, may want to consider a side job repairing c-4s
To change the housing yes but to change just the bulb, it should be accessible. Appreciate the comments!
Oh, okay thanks Dan.@@diymakerdan
You have taking on quite a job. Very happy you decided to make a series, it will help me immensely repairing my 1989 which was deer damaged. So many damn little parts invovled in tearing this down; but you have patience which I run short on. Thank you, I appreciate it.
Yes it is quite the job indeed especially for a first timer like myself with little reference to go on. Best advice to take a lot of pictures/video if you can and make sure to tag and bag all parts/ fasteners so reassembly goes smooth. Glad the series helps you!
That's great and all, but you never explained why DexCool was bad, why green was superior, and why almost every other manufacturer is switching to an OAT style coolant like DexCool. These videos that are half assed full of information are the reason why our kids make idiotic videos as well. I don't agree or disagree with your videos's presentation, I have issue when you don't inform your viewers why chemically one is superior to another.
MY WIFE WALKED IN WHILE YOU SPED THAT UP SHE WANTS YOUR #
Tip: Cutting about 7 inches off the passenger side of the old bar makes removal much easier. The original bar is hollow and cuts easily with a grinder.
Definitely would have been nice if your title would have matched your video. The thing is you never show how you don't get it out without dropping the subframe, or put the new one in.
Could you fix mine?
I need some boot glasses… I was hoping to flush and replace coolant in all my vehicles but now I’m gonna have to order about thirty boot glasses! ☺️🤘🏼🤘🏼 (Thanks for the great, to-the-point, content!)
Mine stopped keeping things cold. Not that old either. 😢
I have a 1994 Buck Park Avenue Ultra. What size is the supercharger oil drain plug? It's stripped so I want to replace it
Amazing video I’m gonna use your advice those headlights came out amazing better then most videos I have watched
I distinctly remember showing a family member the first one I completed. Their look was of disbelief and it took some convincing I wasn't fooling them with a brand new headlamp instead of refurbishing it.
If you dare you can attach a shop vac upto your engine oil fill and no oil will drain.
Great advice
A few years ago I found the spare in my GTO had 0 psi in it.
@@diymakerdan the last time I had my GTO’s spare out I was considering getting a 2nd one to use as front runners at the drag strip but I realized the spare won’t fit over the large Wilwood brakes… I can’t remember if I checked the pressure or not 🤦♂️ but I will!
Dang love this!!! I have always used owners book in glove box!
I bet this guy has Labelle on everything in his house like on his milk jug and each apple hahah. Use a spread sheet. It's not 1940
Wax pencil works good too.
Great tip! I may start using that with hose replacements.
I use a spread sheet and dont need to glue crap to the car. Thanks for sharing though
That's a good plan for overall history but anything digital can be lost without regular backups and what is out of sight can sometimes be out of mind.
@@diymakerdan whatever works for you
Hence the title of the video.
@@diymakerdan it's just that your idea sucks. Why would you glue sticky notes all over your car. Use a maintenance spread sheet and properly track things from the comfort of your kitchen. It's not 1940. Maybe the title should be... DUMB IDEAS
@@diymakerdan awww you deleted my comment Poor boy
I've been doing this for 24 years, ever since I bought a label maker. It works.
Apparently the weld on the inner bracket bolts fastening thread broke free, so it rotates endlessly. Gonna break the head off and replace it with a nut and bolt.
How is it holding up
Its holding up very well, glad I got it years ago on sale as it is nearly double the price nowadays.
@@diymakerdan no issues with the slides or anything? What about the casters getting flat spots? How has the stainless top held up. Any major dents from use. And if so what caused it. I’m not here to criticize I’m genuinely interested in the box and just want to make sure before I spend my hard earned money if it will be worth it.
No worries, you have legitimate concerns and I know how it feels when we spend large sums of $ we want to make sure we get the best option for our particular situation. On the slides, the top double drawer and the first drawer below it on the left hyper extend somewhat on the left slide only when those drawers are pulled open to their limit if pulled from the left edge of the pull. It did this early on thus I am careful to not pull them open too abruptly or from only the left side of the pull. The particular model I have only has a single slide on the large top drawer, whereas the Harbor Freight model I was considering at the time had a double slider on the top drawer. If the top drawer on mine ever becomes an issue I'd just update it myself to double slide using quality drawer slides but it really hasn't to date. I mainly keep lighter items in it and sockets in the 3rd drawer down and thus I dont forsee ever having to upgrade the single slider. All other drawers function perfectly even the lower bins which have considerable weight in them and I still really like the soft close feature the Husky came with. The stainless top is still in near perfect shape, however I have a peice of tempered glass from an old coffee table on it that takes most of the beating. The stainless steel top is not as thick as a professional box such as a SnapOn and I'm sure would start looking like the moons surface if heavy parts are lumped on it. I also currently use use a peice of lexan that was left over from a screen door refurb on the right topside too and between that and the glass it covers most of the top surface and avoids the SS getting all scratched up from debris as things are slid along the surface. No issues with the wheels on mine, although it hasn't really moved since I placed it where I have it now. Just cleaned the wheels off the other day after noticing some dust accumulation and white dots on them (spider poop) and the plastic cleaned up like new. No dents anywhere on the drawers, pull handles, or framework. Just cleaned the font face of the entire box recently and only noticed a few micro chips on the handles which is probably from me leaning something against it or flak from using power tools in close proximity. Any rough work I do is usually done in my wooden bench to the left so I dont risk damaging the box If you have a local HF nearby check their similar model out too. Everything else I found new at the time was too janky for me like my old Craftsman was for weekend warrior usage. Hope that helps!
Real Sugar Pepsi 😋
Throwback FTW! Nice spot 👍
I just lost ~70 sec of my life that I won't ever get back...
Could you please provide a video explaining which side of my toothbrush should be buttered ?
I just feel with my index for the teeth on the micro usb and i always get it right that way
Whatever works for you is the best option.
