Professional sports photographers that work in inclement weather use rain gear (Aquatec & other manufacturers) to protect their expensive camera bodies/lens. On my trip to Iceland last year, I carried my Canon 6D Mk II in the rain all day. It wasn't heavy rain, just a light and constant drizzle. The 6D Mk II isn't waterproof, but it's a semi-professional camera, so I thought it would handle a few splashes. And it did! However, by the end of the day, when we were in the car heading home, some buttons stopped working, and the connection to the lens failed as well. It seemed completely broken. I was sad because I assumed I would be without a camera for the rest of the trip (we still had 5-6 days left). The next day, we went to a house with a wall heater, and I followed some online suggestions to leave the camera and lens exposed to the heat overnight, hoping to dry it out completely. To my surprise, the camera worked perfectly the next morning!

I’ve never seen shock proofing really mentioned in specs before, is it common? Great video and wonderful images Ronan. I actually gave up the 23mm f1.4 R Lm WR for the f2 version. The 1.4 was too big and too heavy for the XT-5. @@Mr.Salvatore.89 it’s honestly a really capable camera, in such a small form factor too. I’ve added a thumb grip for comfort, but otherwise it’s a really really good piece of kit.
