  Fake car on peut trouver cette même photographie (sans le personnage), même cadrage prise quelques jours avant par HCB , une autre photo prise en haut d'un escalier avec un cycliste qui passe au lointain a été également prise avec le même cadrage quelque temps avant. HCB est un grand photographe mais il ne faut pas nous prendre pour des quiches !!!

  Je viens de terminer "Véhiculaire et Vernaculaire". Une révélation et une vraie claque. Stephen Shore nous montre le banal et l'on se rend compte qu'il nous est essentiel. C'est un grand monsieur, merci à lui.

  American is responsible for the greatest displacement of human beings since WW2. The mass murder of civilians across the globe under the American flag continues daily. It’s not only extraordinary but also deeply offensive that an American or French person with their own history of brutalism and colonialism think they can tell the story of the victim. Give the camera to the refugee, give them the book deal, give them the platform .The sheer privileged whiteness of all this is utterly blinding.

  I searched for a review of, or conversation about, Luzzara, because I just received the book, and was questioning what its intent was. The wider streetscape photographs are unmistakently Shore; there are a couple of images which remind me of Cartier-Bresson, and the few portraits peppered throughout, are, I felt, an interruption. I wasn't sure what he was doing with them, given that there is no text, no names, not even locations noted. I felt: either more, or none. After all this isn't reportage; it isn't "the people of Luzzara," nor is it a road trip. It is rooted in this one village, one supposes. I'd have to see Strand's book to perhaps understand what Shore was up to. This is a good interview, and does add to my understanding of the book and of Shore's approach.

  "Derrière la gare Saint-Lazare" n'est pas ma photographie préférée de HCB mais j'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à l'analyse de cette image faite par Clément Chéroux. Sa biographie "Le tir photographique" sur HCB est passionnante. J'ai hâte de découvrir la suite.😊
