RIP Peter. While I love this, I worry that future generations will not appreciate the gender issues. Shouldn't be an issue, I agree. The characters expected different than they got. It's okay. "I assumed she was a man, she talked that way."

I have been a beginner musician of piano as a child and violin as an adult but I have never been educated in the fundamentals of music. As the lecture started I wasn't initially drawn in but I persevered and the lecture turned out to be at the level I needed to start understand the music I have been reading and using. The key board reference is very helpful for me. I seem to always use the keyboard as my reference. I look forward to the next lecture.

Thank you for letting me know about his passing. I shouldn't be surprised that, even though so many of my friends are into "classical music" and most of the groups I have on Facebook, none of them mentioned this.

Thank you. Could you please play a instrument like piano to add another teaching tool as you explain these? So part A is visual part B is looking at notes on board while you play the measure.? Combing the 2 would really help even more. This was a great lesson. Now if I can hear how it sounds on instruments. I struggle with my 8th and 16 notes. I get really confused. BUT this helped a lot!!! 😅

Just a follow up note: I see that most of the comments are from individuals that already understand timing and notation, so I guess that I’m out of line. But whether or not you’re in the front of the class, or sitting way in the rear, my comments are very much valid. There’s more to be gained. Thanks

You’re more interested in the 1,e,&,a than you are the way the notes are written or seen. We’re not in college, and you’re not trying to cram a lecture in to 20 minutes, or are you? Slow down and give us a second or two to absorb the content. You’re good, but I couldn’t watch you 4-5 times just to get what I should have the 1st or 2nd time around. You make me feel like a blind man watching a race. Which is sad, because you’re enjoying you, more than I am.

Hi Dan thanks for the lesson. That is really useful. Can you do a lesson on off beat. Sort of struggling to count when at the start of a measure you have an eighth note followed by a quarter note or where you have a long rest and then at the end of a measure an eighth. In band music which I play it happens a lot
