I have a bunch of devices (lights, LEDs & switches) in my Tuya app, but they work in Home Assistant for about a day, then stop working. It all still works in the app though. I'm about ready to toss all of the devices out.

what part of localtuya didn't work?
@davidilie9 ай бұрын
It didn't work for me when it came to implementing the IR transceiver devices that work with Tuya, and the air conditioner it founds was reported as "not supported" which is why I had to create my own implementation. Thanks for watching my video!

are you sure it’s a direct connection to your pfsense router?

Great stuff. I'm waiting on AkiExpress for a 4 port mini pc to use with pfSense. Love to hear about automation, and has it resolved the stability issues, how does speed compare and have you started thinking about pihole-style filtering of ads and trackers.
@davidilie2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Speed is actually better compared to using just the ISP-given router (I am getting more than my advertised speed somestimes). I used to use Pi-Hole in my local network mainly for DNS but I found that pfSense supports that out of the box so I stopped using my Pi-Hole server (the DNS server in the video, 192.168.1.111, was my Pi-Hole instance)

Hello can someone help me . I have an old router that i want to replace it with pfsense on virtual machine but I don't know what vm software is better and how to put all my internet traffic through pfsense and only then to the host os and other devise in home.

Hey! I recommend Proxmox as your virtual hypervisor which makes it really easy to create and manage virtual machines through its web interface. Regarding the pfSense virtual machine, what you can do is pass through 2 of the how many amount of ethernet port your server has via virtual network interfaces which you can figure out how to do online or via PCIE passthrough which is what I did in the video. The LAN port which goes out of pfSense can go into a switch and then from the switch goes back to your server for Proxmox to have access to the internet. That's the setup that I currently have at home and it works perfectly.

I am a home user but i have ben running PfSense for probably 3-4 Years now & It's Really great software it has got a pretty steep learning curve but once ya figure it out ya got it..i Run a Dell R210 II with a Quad Core Xeon with 8gb of ecc ram a 120gb ssd an i am really glad i have it Especially with the internet being what it is now days & privacy is a big deal to me & should be to every one , But i also am not the average home user either I have like 4-5 servers running with 3 adults + all the wireless devices to go with I manage /set up every thing We even have a 10gb network but again PfSense is a really good idea for any one imho !
