    That is a status monitor, Thats the LED that will give you all of your fault codes and the yellow wire is there so you can r mount an indicator light somewhere remotely, Mine has been in my jeep for a year or so and has not given me any issues. It will shut off after a timed cycle.

    First impressions is it’s underpowered at 12V. Physics can’t be overcome as you will be pulling lots of amps. IMHO - Really needs 72v to provide enough cooling for most vehicles.

    I have one of these in my 55 plymouth.. Its only going to cool around 20 degrees cooler than your ambient temp.. These are mostly designed for RV's or truckers... It will maintain cooling for an already cooled room... I wasted lots of money on my unit to get it running as an alternate solution to drilling into the block and fabricating stuff for an ac system in my plymouth.. I made a rear mount trunk system with a custom evaporator and pusher fans to suck air from the evap through package tray vents.. Its loud.. I have 4 100ah lithium phosphate batteries running my system and it will stay running for about 4 hours.. My condensor is mounted on the bottom of the car with a fan.. How much freon is a mystery as the readings are never what they are supposed to be.. I have 48 ounces of r-134a in mine and the high side is still not where its supposed to be... I tried it also with 24 ounces of freon and the high side was very very low along with the low side.. Again only going to cool 20 degrees lower than the ambient temp... The green wire from mine is ran from the controller through my pressure switch to the evap... So when the evap is turned on it sends 12-13 volts through the pressure switch to that trigger input initially turning on the compressor.. The speed changes are useless it seems to only work at one speed.. There is supposed to be a controller module you can purchase that has a screen and settings. It is showing this in my book perhaps this is how you get it to run cooler.. I have yet to see a video on start to finish on these.

  • @jonathanhermis1929

    I have two of these systems... My green wire is ran from the controller through the pressure switch to the trigger wire from my evaporator... That yellow wire does nothing.... The ones I have purchased have a safety link from the controller to the compressor.. Some have these and some don't... However I can tell you from using these its only going to put out 20 degrees difference from ambient temp.. If its 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside the best it will put out is 80 degrees.. And how much freon you put into these compressors is a mystery.. I have 3 12 ounce cans in mine and low side is around 60PSI and High Side around 140PSI... I try to follow the standard chart for R-134a and its never correct... Maybe someone can tell me how to get these systems to cool better.

    Yes I am just starting to use the system again and it is working well. I will be making a final video on this shortly. I am running a 160AMP alternator out of a 2001 5.9L Dodge Durango, I have upgraded the charging cable from 6AWG to 2AWG as well as the cable running to the second battery which is out of a 2001 Ford Explorer. There is a 250AMP diode between the 2 batteries and a battery isolator to prevent overcharging and alternator damage. With this set up I have been able to run the system continuously without damage for a month now. The last step is to get some hoses made because mine are leaking, go figure.

    In HVAC usually HX means heat exchanger. TX usually means transmit. The motor should be located on the suction side of the compressor as the cool gas coming back is what cools the motor. I believe these have a evaporator that comes with them too that is fed from the control module. Both the condenser and evaporator are heat exchangers; one picks up heat and the other rejects it.

    Hi how many watts does the compressor alone run on? Also is the signal to turn the compressor on the same as a PWM + signal?

  • @TeddyZues
    @TeddyZues10 ай бұрын

    No it is not pulse with modulation its a variable voltage control 7v to16v+. I have not done any testing to see what the actual current draw or wattage is, I can tell you it is a lot. If you had the option to run a belt driven compressor you would be better off. This thing creates more load than the belt driven unit, and is not as efficient.

  • @TeddyZues
    @TeddyZues Жыл бұрын

    Yes you can. as of right now that is how I have mine wired up. The green wire goes to my A/C compressor clutch 12v+ and my ECM controls the unit safely. The catch is that the system is going to cycle like your original compressor would. which defeats the purpose of a variable speed compressor cause its constantly turning on and off vs. controlling the RPM of the compressor between 1000 - 4000 RPM.

    @TeddyZues maybe it requires fan pwm thermostat controller. Instead of fan maybe by plugging the tx terminal into thermostat controller it will send variable pwm signal to compressor. Not sure. They got 12v pwm variable thermostat controller for $10
