thank you for the informative video! i have such a hard time finding care videos for less common hoya. do the leaves on this one feel pretty thin? it looks like it should feel chunky by how the top of the leaves look but the underside makes them look thin?

Mine must be a mutant. I keep hearing about how finicky these are but mine is a total beast. I left it away from light for a week when I got it, uprooted it from soil, aggressively washed its roots, put it in pon, trellised it, immediately put it under an intense grow light to sun stress it, and Ive ignored it ever since. It dries up and loses its tendril (no more than my pubicalyx with the same neglect) but has never dropped leaves and grows as soon as I water it. Maybe it just wants to be abused....lol

Hi, I grow many varieties of hoya but I've always had problems with this one. In almost a year mine has lost almost all the leaves which first turn yellow and then fall. in the summer it stays outside and in the cold I put it in a growbox. The branches are beautiful green and the roots healthy. I do not know what to do. The substrate is a mix of soil, bark and pumice. The vase is placed on pumice which I always keep wet. Can you give me some advice?

Mine has good leaves but its very tipsy. I've repotted once a week or two ago with regular soil. Would it be a good or bad idea to repot again into tropical or orchid type soil?

Bought a pink princess philodendron about a year ago and just noticed the leaves are changing to a yellow brown and orange...whoops the orange leaf just fell off on its own. I am going to follow your lead from your video and pray my ppp will survive. Thank you Carly, for making this video. I am wondering what your ppp looks like today? Bet it's BEAUTIFUL!

I can grow almost anything, but this plant has died on me 3 times!? 😱 I just got another one about a month ago and decided to put it into a glass vessel in leca. I separated the two stems I got and placed them into separate vessels for a bit of insurance 😂 Doing much better this time and going to give them poles soon. I think pest pressures being so high in my area last year combined with pest treatments pooling in between the leaf and stem caused my last 2 to rot suddenly. 🤞🤞🤞 these will keep doing wonderfully. Thanks for the video 🤗

Hi ! I have the same situation with my Crimson Queen and Crimson Princess. They are both in the same spot and they look great. I am a Hoya head like you but I do have a lot of other plants. I'm excited for summer to see which vod my hoyas will bloom. I have about 8 now, but I'm always looking for more!

I got this Hoya in the mail yesterday & wanted to water it as the leaves were so stiff. However, my hubby pointed out that the substrate was still moist. Therefore, I watched many videos to find out about how the leaves should feel; none until yours explained the “cardboard” texture. Thank you! I’m a sub. now.

Im seeing on Reddit that My Home Nature poaches many of their plants and animals from the wild. The giant vinegaroon I ordered clearly states that the specimen is field collected but Im not sure how much more of their inventory is poached or wild caught. Im ok with certain species being field collected but not most of them. Its a little unsettling for me. I don't think I would have ordered from them if I knew everything I do now. Also it says in their terms of service that they do not allow order cancelations either so there's no backing out now. Wish me luck. Someone else on youtube posted a review video unboxing 12 vampire crabs from them and 6 were dead on arrival. Im worried for my creatures. I know its a risk of importing but the way they packed those crabs was BAD. Im shocked that any survived. Also box had no markings that said the box had live animals inside, this side up, fragile or anything. Its a bit freaky. Also people on Reddit say that its an alltogether illegal operation. Makes sense why your package didnt go through customs and entered in Alaska if that's the case. Very ballsy doing all this on the surface web if it is an illegal operation though. I really dont know what to believe.

Thanks so much for this info. I just placed an order with My Home Nature for a bunch of difficult to obtain (in canada) exotic animals including a camel spider, a giant Vinegaroon, several rare centipedes, scorpions and a couple interesting morphs of pacman frog. It will be my first time importing my exotic animals. Im extremely nervous as this is an expensive order with very high risk and I am not a wealthy person so if this goes wrong it will really hurt.. Im just keeping my fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly and my creatures get here alive and in a reasonable amount of time.

I’d be more concerned with potential issues at the border or more incurred costs. From what I’ve been reading (and talking to them directly) they send “brown box” style, which I’m unsure applies to Ontario. I’m actually gonna make some calls tomorrow to see if I’m able to import them legally. I know there aren’t any import laws in Ontario for spiders specifically, but from some arachnid boards I’ve utilized they say to avoid brown box orders cuz you can get in trouble. Although, the other video you commented on (I think I saw you comment as well haha) it seems that Mike received his order without issues not including the passed crabs. You can check out borderbuddy, sometimes extra cost comes at customs and duties paid, but again, I haven’t done it before, I’m hoping I can get it going though. I wanna order from there!! Please let me know here or somehow IF your order came nicely and orderly!!

Also they do have an arrive alive policy, so if you have any specimens pass they’ll refund you for that, I’m unsure if they’ll refund any incurred cost at duty or customs if that’s a thing

I just got one through the mail. It came with soil on roots. So I put it in some soil. I lost the 2 bottom leaves. They turned yellow. I was looking at the stem and it kinda looks dry. Like a pale brownish color. Is that the way it's supposed to look?
