It's too bad that this is such low resolution! Great footage, though, but where are the dually wheels?

The dually wheels were just allowed for hill climb championchips and not for normal race tracks. If I remember right.

Holy shit, incredible to see 3 being thrashed. Must have been utterly mind blowing back in late 30s to see these and Mercs racing, the sound and speed. Was,nt until 1980s, turbo era that a F1 car had more power or faster top speed. Still Awesome!!

Nice...

There’s a lot of confusion as to where raves originated, some say the UK, others claim the US, I am sure they were also happening in Germany, Belgium and Rotterdam at the same time.

I am simply struggling with this comment and i am not going to be rude at all. Buy having grown up in the 80's and been a part of the biggest social change ever! dance music, house, techno, whatever you want to call it changed my life and tonnes of my friends life. It was so much bigger than any other social revolution because its still going on. Folks are still making electronic dance music, long may it last!! The US created house, no doubt, Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, were i guess the kingpins. Then you have legends like David Mancuso, who started house parties with a whole host of US DJ's in the early 70.s. Rave's and rave culture is a UK event. I am sure that there were raves happening in Europe but the blue print was english, without doubt. Clubs in central london were dreadful, u had to wear a suit and tie, Mr C was playing house music at his club in 1987. Soul to soul were throwing parties with Judge Jules, in abandoned train station warehouses, look up why Judge Jules is called Judge Jules. Then we had the whole acid thing, born in the US, adopted by the english and made better. We had all the M25 parties. It was just a magical melting pot of amazing music fueled by excellent xtc. Its only now that the US is embracing rave culture but by all accounts it looks and feels like it just sucks. The american kids just didnt understand or get what they had when they had it. Of course those folks in detroit, chicago and NY all understood, but they were such a small proportion of what was about to explode in england. Lets face it good music is just great good music.

As wonderful as these sound I think I prefer the Miller Offenhauser*. Although a Miller straight eight or V-16 must have been mechanical symphonies *outside the world of drag racing perhaps the most successful racing engine in history. Competitive for over 40 years.

Haha. ;)
