  Hello Annette! Thanks for the kind correction. Sometimes I interchange them but I know smarter gardeners out there like you can pardon me for that mistake 😝. Ahhhh, Australia! One of my most favorite countries in the southern hemisphere. You are also in one of the better climates for growing plants down under. Huge follower and fan of Gardening Australia here !

  Believe it or not, I bought and still buy them from a grocery store called LIDL. Sometimes I go to a big box store when I feel like it.

  I think One bulb put in 12 to 14 inches pot because they are healthy bulbs it's too congested I love all kind of lilys ❤ God bless you 🤲

  Thanks. It is a stalwart in our garden. I agree with you. There’s quite a lot of butterflies, bees and chocks of golden finches visiting about in our garden daily. Pure bliss ! 🙋🏻‍♂️

  We learn something new every day about plants don’t we? I’ve been fortunate that the peonies in NC do grow. It would’ve been a shame if they didn’t survive the heat here. What sort of peonies do you have in WI? I bet they’re phenomenal!

  Its the end of January 2024...Im in Northeast Florida & I just bought a bunch of bulbs. Im planning on putting them in a garage refrigerator for about 10-12 weeks then use this method with water/stone/glass container INDOORS at my dining room window, which is large...so i get a lot of natural light. Im sure it will take a week to get most of these bulbs(so beginning of Feb), but i have 20 coming tomorrow. Am I okay on timing if I get these bulbs growing indoors after the 2-3 month cooling period? In April/May....Thats tulip season right? Im a newbie!! 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

  Hi there. Such an exciting growing experiment. Your plan of placing them in the refrigerator is spot on. They may however grow faster once you have them set up in the jars with stone and water. The amount of light and warmth in your part of the world is consistent than the rest of the country. You may be more advanced in getting them to flower than some of us. But otherwise, I feel you’re on the right track. Good luck!!! 😃🙋🏻‍♂️

  My apples and pear espalier are in their first spring/summer after planting them in late winter. I have been training two horizontal first tiers as they grow and leaving a central leader. The first tier is growing well. Its now mid summer. I have some branch growth coming off the two trained laterals and some off the central leader. Should I be summer pruning in the first year on my first tier laterals? Is mid summer too late for that? I have one pear which has produced a few laterals off the central leader at a tier two height. Should I train those now or is it best to cut the central leader back in winter to start the next tier from fresh? Thanks

  Summer pruning on the first year? I say hold off and let them acclimate, root down. Wait until late winter of the following year. Then you can start the cycle of pruning: late winter pruning to PROMOTE GROWTH; summer pruning to INHIBIT MORE GROWTH. About your pear tree. I would determine which two laterals you’d like. Train them laterally at your preferred length. Make sure you always leave about a foot length at the end and let it grow vertically. As they continue to produce growth, tie them laterally up to your desired length. Once you achieve that length, you can then prune the tip. Hope this made sense. Good growing and pruning !! 😀🙋🏻‍♂️

  Staking really not necessary for intersectional or Itoh peonies. There are also many varieties of herbaceous peonies that do not need staking. See the American Peony Society’s recommendations for Landscape peonies.

Here’s a much better ratio and measurement for beginner puto bungbong: ▢ 1 1/3 cups sticky purple rice ▢ 1 1/3 cups glutinous white rice malagkit ▢ 2/3 cup long grain purple rice

  Most foxtail lilies only give off one bloom per bulb unfortunately. It’s worth the wait tho.

  Hello there. As these are indoor plants. I suggest being very in-tune with the plants. Some of them do need frequent watering. The ubiquitous finger in the soil method holds true for most of them. I water frequently during the growing months and hold back on the watering during winter when some of them hibernate. 😃. Hope this helps. What kind of plants do you keep indoors?

  Those 3 will need a pot at least 2 feet across…they are huge plants. And be patient, they may take a year or two to flower as the bulb needs to establish & grow a bit to flower

  So an idea to consider when planting trees. Instead of staking, I prefer to set a couple heavy rocks on top of rootball after planting. This allows for the tree to sway naturally in the wind so it produces a thicker trunk. Obviously in espalier situation the tying will support tree. Thanks for sharing. It’s a cool space you created

  That’s an interesting question and to be honest I have never classified them using that variable (leaves being upright or when they hang down). I’ll look into this for future reference as well. 👍🏼

  hello, for the fall bulbs that we can buy in the stores. Can I plant them right away and see flowers in the winter or I need to put the bulbs in the fridge and plant them in the spring time? Thanks.

  So very sorry for the delayed reply 🥴. Short answer yes. I have done this in the past. I immediately placed the bulbs in the fridge and let them stay in for two months. I got some early in September. Placed them in the fridge. Took them out in December. Then I placed them in a big vase with pebbles. I put the vase near a heat source by the window. Bulbs will grow with enough stratification (being in the fridge), right about if heat and 6 hours of sunlight. They bloomed !!

  I live in PA in USA, I plan on gifting planted bulbs in glass containers as a Christmas Gift. I plan on using my Cricut Machine to attatch vinyl pictures of the flowers and a wonderful inspiritional quotation.
