  After traveling to Japan and back to the US I know for a certain it’s the values and the virtues that are messed up now days. People in Japan take care of their local communities and have respect for each other. I cannot recall the last time I saw anyone go pickup trash off the road in my neighborhood or was just polite to their neighbors. In Japan kids walk themselves to school, have respect for their teachers, and clean up their schools together at the end of the day. Not saying Japan is perfect but I think the issue is a cultural problem not a rich person problem. People in the US don’t care about their neighborhood or their community unless it affects them personally. Same can be said with the public school system. No amount of money will ever fix America’s public education system because the issue is with our values not funding. Move kids from class to class like cattle, treat them like criminals, give students hardly any responsibility, very few students have any work ethic for their own studies, and the list can go on. So yeah I think 🤔 it’s a values issue not a rich person issue.

  Well, unlike the rest of you self centered narcissists, we take care of our own. We keep the elderly in our homes, until their doctors say we don't have the skills to care for them. That's usually within 6 months of their death. When half of Texas was under water and the other half was on Fire, Gov. Perry asked Obama to declare a state of emergency, AND OBAMA SAID NO! Other states around us stepped up to help, but not the feds. When the cartels were firing into Texas and killing Texans, OBAMA REFUSED TO HELP. Then Biden BROUGHT SEVERAL MILLION ILLEGALS INTO THE STATE OF TEXAS AND HAS OFFERED NOT ONE PENNY TO PAY FOR THEM. So Gov. Abbot started sending A TINY FRACTION OF THEM TO SANCTUARY CITIES, BECAUSE THEY WANTED THE ILLEGALS TO COME TO THE US..... until they had to put their money where their mouth is. We've spent 22Million dollars dealing with illegas THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Texas has been its own country for close to 30 years now. We send DC way more than they send back. The topic of secesssion has been discused continuously for 30 years. The Catch is, if things got bad enough for Texas to secede, all of the deep south states on the Gulf, would go with us. Oklahoma is a wild card IMO; they probably would, but they don't like being the younger sibling to Texas. New Mexico is Blue, with only gainfully employed people voting Conservative. Nebraska is now more red than blue, so they might go with Texas. If Texas were to secede, it would be another Civil War division of states, geographically, but there could be more northerly and westerly states that just might join us. There is a portion of Oregon, and now Northern California that are trying to secede from their blue states, and become part of Idaho; they are disenfranchised in their blue state.

If Texas were to secede, and it's been the topic of coversation for the last 30 years, we would have ALL of our borders secured within a few months. And all those liberal Cali Refugees, will be deported back to Cali.

  @@Tribal_Lands I have lived in Texas for 10 years and there is a lot of disfunction with how the state is governed. The state government is subsided by the federal government. There are constant natural disasters happening in the state that require federal government intervention. Texas talks a big talk, but it’s not ready to be its own nation.

  That's the problem these days: online sources for Crime Stats have switched to Per Capita, which dilutes Raw Crime Data. They also include misdemeanor crimes with the violent crime stats to make peaceful country towns look far more violent than the big cities AND BLUE STATES. You have to dig for the raw crime data at the numerous law enforcement agencies to get the true story.

  One can only wish. It wouldn't be one of the more powerful countries. By the time the military pulls out and Texas has to fund its own military, it would be bankrupt. Without a military, Mexico may invade. Oh sweet irony, Mr Abbott. Texas received one and a half time more money from the Feds than it pays. In short, the State needs the handouts already. When the US oil companies move their headquaters, data centers and most of the non-administrative jobs back to the US, there'll be a massive brain drain, leaving red cap mouth breathers trying to run the place. Good luck at that point.
