Well here's hoping that I don't eat my words. Back in December of 2018 I bought one at a Walmart for just under $400 I think $370 or thereabouts. Boyd's stock, rosewood finish. She's a beauty and I have not seen any other like it since then. Had a weaver scope on it it was okay. But now I have a Vortex 4x12 on it it's a dream rifle. And I put a very nice leather sling on it, purchased from Academy.

Just a heads up if you want something better, or when the Coleman bends out of shape too much, try the Redcamp folding oven. When the price of the Coleman went up up up, we found the Redcamp is a better product, no need to do 'fixes', three racks, glass window door, thermometer already on. No covering it with fire blankets to keep the heat in or all the stuff people have to do with Coleman. It's heavy, but you're getting steel, not aluminum.

  • @MikeTrieu

You can take a cheap, tall, round stainless steel pot with steel lid (mine is a $9 Walmart but you can get larger)… Drill 4 holes in the sides and put 4 bolts which extend into the interior… Lay the appropriate size light mesh grate on the bolts… Stick a BBQ thermometer in the lid (if you prefer you can put it on the side)… And you have an oven at a fraction of the Coleman cost, a fraction of the weight, but of course, a different size configuration. I was racking my brain for months about getting this oven, but I couldn’t justify this huge contraption just for baking, which I don’t do much of. The best part? By putting your bolts and grate maybe 6” from the top, you still have plenty of space TO USE THAT SAME POT for steaming, stews, heavy volume soups, etc.

Depends on price. If you are paying over $400 for one, Id look at gen 1 Ruger American Rifles, they are a tad better. IF you are paying more than 450 range, Id look at Howa. Get the best built rifle for your money. IF ok with a 308. 243, or 6.5 Creedmoor, you may also check the Stevens 334. It is getting good reports, and am seeing some pretty smoking deals at this time on those, and they are a bit better made than the Axis. Rem 783 is another good shooting option. If you are paying $450-$500 get the Howa. Steer away from Mossberg patriot/atr rifles, they are made like garbage.
