Better than Gerrard for sure? That's a hell of a call! For me, just two very different players that complimented each other perfectly. I'd still have Gerrard as the better overall player (and Liverpool's best ever player as well) but Alonso was pure class. I'll never forget seeing him play at Anfield for the first time - against Norwich. I'd never seen him in La Liga so it was one of those increasingly rare moments when you see a player for the first time and just think to yourself, "how the hell did we manage to pick up a player this good? How do I not know who he is? He's fucking amazing! We're going to win the league 😂". A world class player.

His through passes are good and yes he's scoring goals slot more than strikers so probably like 1 goal per 2 or 3 games thats a real threat don't you think that's literally winning Barcelona games
