Humm Baby Baseball is a baseball channel that focuses on the San Francisco Giants and baseball in general including rule changes, Hall of Fame candiates, historical studies, and more!
Recall being in H.S. in 1962. Had my trusty transistor radio. One click and Vin Scully and Jerry Doggett were on the air. I sat down on a cement round by a tree to hear the ending of the third game. I still recall the sinking in my stomach at the game's end as well as Vin Scully's words. "If you're a long time Dodger's fan, you've been through this before in Brooklyn. If you're a new follower of them here in Los Angeles ... get used to this happening. The Dodgers will take your spirits high only to break your heart. All I can tell you is to take hope because as they ssid in Brooklyn ... wait'll next year." His words or something akin to it. Damn year still hurts.😢 And I still hate those damn Giants.😡

Except for Van Haltren and Maris I watched all the other eight and I agree they all have stats that make them worthy of a HOF plaque. What do you think about Bill Matlock? Four time NL Batting champion with a career .305 avg. in 15 MLB seasons. He receive 4.5 % of the votes his first ballot. That's pathetic with a 4 time batting champion.

you know this deeply angers me. I don't see these men as blacks. I see them as human beings. I would have LOVED to watch them play and given them good money to LET me watch them play. Why are so elites so many people cruel, racist and unloving? Omigod JUST LET THEM PLAY. America no longer strikes me as a kind country. we still have some racism. I true businessman would not have cared that these players are black. he would been more concerned or excited about THE MONEY THEY could bring and the championships. DUHHHH! But no, the hate and "rules" are more important. Ugh! And look how women athletes who on professional teams, are treated by their rulers? E.G. WNBA. Look at the small championship statue they get, compared to the NBA big trophy statue. Its OBVIOUS. Its ugly.

Aside from tossing in a few homers from the early decades, this is a list compiled with little knowledge of SF Giant history, focusing almost solely on 2010 and later years. My 2 most memorable homers were hit by Mays. 9/30/1962, the last games of the regular season saw the Giants a game behind the Dodgers. The Dodgers lost, so a win over the Houston Colt 45's puts the Giants in a 3 game playoff for the pennant. Tied at 1 in the bottom of the 8th, Willie smoked a homer and Stu Miller pitched the 9th for the win. On July 2, 1963, 25 y/o Juan Marichal faced Braves 42 y/o Warren Spahn. The game was scoreless through 15 innings and both pitchers were still on the mound. Willie ended it by smacking a homer off Spahn leading off the bottom of the 16th inning. This has been regarded by many as the greatest pitching duel I MLB history. But Willie gets no love for these 2 dramatic game winning homers defies logic. I must add that it is possible there is no video available for these games, in which case they should have been mentioned anyway.

That whole SI Article about Rocker was discredited when the author wrote a fake article about David Wells. The author was subsequently fired, by SI, after the Wells article. The distraction surrounding that article was a result of the media and MLB; and even after the article was discredited, he didn't receive one apology for all the drama the media and MLB created. #2?..no way.

Welcome to the Hall of Almost Famous. A couple of candidates from Chicago's baseball teams: (1) Aramis Ramirez - .283 career batting avg w/ 386 homers and 1,417 RBI (7 seasons of 100+ RBI). (2) Paul Konerko - .279 career batting avg w/ 439 homers and 1,412 RBI (6 seasons of 100+ RBI). Very similar career stats. Neither player in the HOF.
