    And what's the longterm effect of this for the vision? What if one eye deteriorates? and that, faster than the other so that that balance created with monovision, is disturbed? What happens then? Another monovision surgery? And how quickly can this happen?

    Maybe lowering their vitamin d and co factors, by putting them inside, is causing it?? Too many variables not being looked at. Yes . Fascinating. But short sighted in conclusions, excuse the pun 😂

    Thank you for addressing exercises post cataract surgery more throughly then anyone else here. I didn’t realize until after my first eye I would be restricted from vigorous exercise until 3 weeks post second eye. That’s a lot of time for an endurance athlete to rest. I’m 71 and so I’ll definitely be loosing fitness with that much time off. Of course my eyes come first. Normal workouts happen daily with 2-3 x week high intensity intervals and weekly race pace work. Some days are light recovery days. I’m competitive nationally. I do get close to maximum heart rate a couple times a week. I can keep my heart rate at 80% max for three hours. Being allowed to keep my heart rate in the 120 range would be so much better then resting. Maybe your familiar with zone 2 work or quantifying work with heart rate. My maximum heart rate is 157. My resting HR is 42. I know this is a lot to ask and perhaps nobody has looked at the effect of exercise intensity on the post cataract eye - I probably wouldn’t volunteer for that study. If you can comment thank you. I’m sure lots of athletes getting cataract surgery would love to know. Thank you.

    I didn't rub my eyes and it still got worse. One other factor is sleeping on your stomach or otherwise face down on your pillow. You put pressure on your eyes while you're asleep and it weakens the cornea.

    I developed astigmasism from getting towel whipped in the right eye. I presume it's why i have the very uncommon issue, of having it cause a minor double vision. Every so often, if i'm looking for fine outlines to letters for instance, i'll see a light copy of the letter hovering a milimeter off to the bottom right, sort of like displays when ghosting.

    So is it possible to like dead space your surgery like look away right as the needle is basically tip of the needle to the eye in dead space right as you look away during the second stage the needle jams straight onto your chapters eyes. At the very very last millisecond The character looks away as the needle is literally touching his eyeball and then it just jams all the way through

    Mr Bell, I really really congrat you for letting everyone know that it is how you use your eyes determines your vision. All about vision habits. Too much near with bad habits = myopic (my brother) Not enough near (like me) hyperopic, noticeable at 44yr old. I now know how to stop hyperopia, read or cell phone it up for hours a day until you spasm and one day it wont let go=better vision for a hyperope. A myopes worst nightmare besides a neg lens doing close up!!!

    What about weight training? I don't mean heavy weights, but simply working with dumbbells in the range of 20-30lb each? Also, leg squats, push-ups and sit-ups can be very strenuous especially when doing high reps, what about those? I have been walking since about 2 days after surgery. I had laser, by the way, if that makes a difference, and I'm a week past my first eye, and second eye coming up in a week. I'm in my early 60's and in good health otherwise. Should I just wait until after the second eye to reintroduce weights? I would like to resume the sit-ups and squats now though if I can, or should I just stick with the walking for now, since the 2nd eye is coming up so soon?

  • @mikeking7710
    @mikeking77102 жыл бұрын

    @@AttilaTheHunky I don't know if you meant this for me or the video poster, but no matter. I'm not a bodybuilder, but just an older man who's trying to regain some health in my later years, through nutrition and exercise. What I can say from my experience, is that if you're having both eyes done, they'll probably be about one to two weeks apart, and that's not enough time to even begin to think about resuming exercise before your second eye. I was advised not to do any kind of general weight training or even strenuous calisthenics or aerobics at first. This could be as much as 3-4 weeks after the second eye, possibly longer, as everyone is different. Follow your eye dr's advice on that. I knew that it was going to be a while without strenuous exercise, so since walking was OK, I started walking about a week after each eye, to keep active until the next eye, then started walking again a week after the second eye. If you walk outside, make sure to protect your eyes with sunglasses, both from the glare and also any wind in your face. But jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups and other more strenuous aerobics you should stay away from until your eye dr clears you. it was a little over a month after the second eye before I was able to resume actual resistance training and strenuous aerobics, and even then I had to go easy for a while and work the weight and reps back up. All together, other than the walking, I wasn't able to do any other exercise for about 2 months. Hope this helps, and I'm sure the video poster will have thoughts as well.
