Welcome to GO ASTRONOMY (go-astronomy.com).
**NEW VIDEOS EACH MON AND THU**
When you look up at the night sky,
you may find the familiar outline of
stars that mark the constellations.
But there are celestial wonders there that
cannot be seen with the naked eye. Magnificent
star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies that
lie studded against the vast cosmic backdrop.
Some of these objects lie in our Milky Way galaxy,
others far beyond our local group of galaxies.
Each image moves you out further, both in space and in time.
The speed of light is a humbling experience.
By the time the photons have reached your eye,
the telescope lens, or camera sensor,
they may have traveled many millions of years.
These messengers bring an image back in time,
a ghost snapshot of the distant past.
There is no grander endeavor than to study and comprehend the universe.
For our species, the future is literally looking up.

Astronomy aside, the music for this is phenomenal
Thank you! Finding and selecting the music is often harder than doing so for the images...
Brilliant! 😊 Thanks for the list. 🙏
My pleasure!
Cocoon galaxy ❤ i wanna be there!.
amazing well done
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks you so much❤❤❤😂❤
you are welcome:)
Almost feel like I’m playing Elite Dangerous 😂
Very cool
Lovely video ❤️ imagine the first European navigators seeing the southern hemisphere. ❤️ Thank you, love from Tasmania, Australia. Big thumbs up.
Glad you enjoyed it!
First viewer , First liker 👍👌
Thanks for liking
Thank you so much for the informative video
Glad it was helpful!
You guys have an awesome website. Thanks for the work you put into the dark sky locations with bortle class in my home state of Connecticut. I will refer to your website when planning a trip out of the astro backyard to a dark location. Clear skies.
Our pleasure!
Excellent photos and music. I'll be looking tonight .
Thank you and clear skies!
cool
Nice
Thanks!
A little fast and had to keep stopping it, but pretty good.
Good stuff, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
6:43: Gemini is on the northern hemisphere, not southern. Great video though!!
Thanks for the heads up. Am in the process of (slowly) doing v2 refreshes of all the constellations (starting with the small sparse ones) to include more DSOs, improved image resolution, corrections, etc.
@@goastronomy Thank You for Your answer! Go ahead with the great work!
Wonderful. Would like to see Cepheus and the clouds of IC 1396 next to Mu Cephei, the Supergiant Garnet Star. Plus the massive V-V Cephei red Supergiant. If Mu Cephei is so big it would be out past the orbit of Jupiter the V-V Cephei Red Supergiant could nearly reach reach Saturn. An excellent constellation and visible year round if you live above 38 degrees North. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mu_Cephei#/media/File:Star-sizes.jpg
very informative .thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great information . Thanks
My pleasure
There has to be intelligent life in at least one of those billions of stars….i mean to not have intelligent life or another civilization out there….ifs hard to imagine otherwise…..
Great simulation, how can I get a ride to the actual center...
For all Star Trek fans out there, the Constellation Cetus contains the star system Epsilon Ceti, where the fictional pleasure planet known as Risa (Epsilon Ceti B II), as well as the "Briar Patch" (in actuality, the Skull Nebula) from the movie "Star Trek: Insurrection", are located. LLAP!!
Here in Southern hemisphere, I thought Cygnus was the swan
Let's change the stars. What I mean is, get the IAU to, OFFICIALLY, make a new constellation. My idea for changing the stars includes Orion, Taurus and Pleiades (Subaru). Figure it's time to put something up there that's relevant to us, don't you think? Take Orion's belt and Betelgeuse becomes the head with a baseball hat. The 3 stars of Orion's belt make up the 3 fat belt loops on a baseball uniform. Below the belt are two legs bending at the knee. Saiph is the back foot and Rigel is the front foot. The feet aligning perfectly under the bent knees. The spear pointing at "Subaru" is the bat being swung and "Pleiades" is the baseball flying away after being hit. Bellatrix is the hand that let go of the bat and Aldebaran of Taurus is the tip. Put it all together and you get, "THE ALL-STAR." In my case, I see a left-handed batter and I imagine a "7" on the jersey. Which makes him, "Mickey." (As it should be ;-) But you can put any number you want, making, "THE ALL-STAR," any player you want. It'd be wrong of me to not, at least, try. This is me, trying. Pass it on, please and thank you. Don't worry, where I come from, crazy is a compliment.
Not until 2025-2026 will a human be back on the moon sadly I hope to go someday if possible would be very nice I feel like it would be peaceful

Will you do Cancer the Crab next????

This is excellent. Thanks for posting it. I will look for these when the sky is clear.
Enjoy!
😊❤❤ nice
Thanks 🤗
Some were a little over processed, but yea, that's what wide field looks like. I prefer the Pleiades with less nebulosity like with a 60 second exposure. Eye of the beholder, just like the stars to shine through.
Charon left the chat
Major fail on my part...Charon is also considered a binary system with Pluto..
I think M77 / Cetus A got swapped with NGC1156 here? NGC1156 appears to be near Aries, and isn't listed in the description notes, whereas Cetus A is but isn't shown. Thought I'd let you know in case it wasn't intentional!
Thank you for pointing this out. I am mulling over doing a 2024 refresh of select (or all) constellations, adding new DSOs and making corrections where needed.
@@goastronomy No problem! Either way, very excited about these videos, it's a very nice way of getting more familiar with the constellations.
Breathtaking views, and I love your choice of music. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous. The colliding galaxies and the Dolphin nebula are so stunning!
I agree!
So many stunners around Cepheus!
Gorgeous, thank you!
NGC 6891 is so lovely!
The Spirograph Nebula is so beautiful! Thank you!
It really is!
Beautiful. So many striking sights in Scorpius!
Right?!
This is lovely, thank you so much
Glad you like it!
This video is very inspiring, the music is good too ❤
Thanks for helping me with my science project
It's my pleasure
What about in the astrroid belt? There is a dwarf planet/planetoid wot an impact crater the diameter of the object. I dont remember which
Yes, Vesta is in the list of top 10...
The early solar system was lit!
Home.
Damn I love Orion. Great video, very helpful for finding these. Do you have one on Andromeda? I might stand a chance if we get a power cut on a clear night.

No VY Canis Majoris? I know its dying, but it's a tad bit smaller than UY Scuti.
Caldwell 32 - Whale Galaxy Caldwell 72 - NGC 55 Magellanic-type galaxy Sculptor In the video C 32 and C 72 are the same object.
Bro I love astronomy and your videos are very good I love you😘
Thank you so much!
