No, none of these are sent to Ukraine. We bought a lot of bmp1 (in Sweden PBV501) after the cold war but they were later sold or scrapped.

@@rolferhardsson5723 yes, a few were sold to the Czech Republic. And about 60 are now to be sold to Ukraine because Germany wants to give permission now. This is needed to pass on tanks to third party countries.

That's cool. Motorized it with today drive-line and a 24 Val Cummins or a Duramax. 2 1/2 ton military axles. Kevlar Spa liner. Fully stabilized remote gun turret. A fire suppression system. I love old military stuff that been motorized.

Det var kul att se. Jag såg Centurion på P6 när jag var grönklädd på mitten av 1980-talet. Det är ett skönt ljud på den motorn. Jag hörde det ljudet senast för 2-3 år sedan på Arsenalen. Skall ni serva eller reparera motorn?

Correct me if I'm wrong, with this thing mounted he can't rotate at all/ can rotate particulary (or much slower) which make it useless in battlefield

That was soviet doctrine just push the disabled/ destroyed tank in front through the mines. Didn’t matter how many tanks it took as long as the minefield was breached there would be an endless flow of Russian armor passing through .

Do you mean the mine clearing device or the tank itself? If you mean the mine clearing device, the US had a very similar one, also with non driven rollers and a chain between them in the 1960' which is the era we are talking about here. Remember that what we see here is museum items, since long out of military service. The Swedish army now has a remotely controlled mine clearer with rotating flails and some other machines too. If you're thinking of rotating flails, it's a British invention, not American.

The blade is normally mounted under the front as an extra protection and when you need it you just manually fold it out.

Jadervason Yes, you had to get out but that was not a problem because you only used it to improve you position before defending you position. And maybe this construction came after the final drawings.....

Somehow, the shape of the IKV hull slightly reminds me of the Sherman, as the front goes up a bit, and from the turret, it slowly tappers down towatds the rear.

The Axis PoweR MatteV2 well the CV 90 was entering service about then and is 100 times better then the BMP-1 but we have the chance to buy a large number of the for no money at all they bought them as a way to have more Infantry transports.
