    I find that using bullet points to describe my day works well when I don't feel like writing as much in a slump, and if I want to journal but I can't get myself to start writing I use nostalgic ephemera or photos from the past to write about maybe from a time before I started journalling ❤❤❤

    Thanks for sharing this with us! I've heard that a blank page of a B6 is roughly the same size as the ''usable'' space on an A5 hobonichi page (because of the quote at the bottom and the date taking up space at the top) so regardless of what you choose for next year, it'll probably work out well for you!

  • @MaikeOatley
    @MaikeOatleyКүн бұрын

    Oh yeah I think that's about right with the B6 being roughly the size of usable space on the Hobonichi A5 page. You know, sometimes I don't even notice that the quotes are there, but then other times I get a little frustrated to have paid so much for a notebook and not being able to use that chunk at the bottom.

    I think it's just called Hobonichi Plain Notebook. I guess they call it plain because it doesn't have all the planner bits in it, but the pages obviously have a grid pattern on it.

    i think im gonna focus on my hobonichi 5 year next year despite how much i love my avec for daily memory keeping I don't want to keep falling behind on my 5 year, I will also be using a regular notebook for regular journaling and maybe use the hero planner for my tasks etc?

  • @MaikeOatley

    Hi! 😊 I'm still in the Hobonichi Weeks Mega that I started the year in, but this past week I've been SO tempted to pick up an Avec and end the year in it -- mostly because just about every KZreadr I follow has one, and I think it's starting to influence me! We'll see if I give in... Also -- it makes perfect sense to me that you enjoyed Watership Down (the anthropomorphized animals aspect). Such a beautiful book!

  • @MaikeOatley
    @MaikeOatleyКүн бұрын

    Hobonichi Weeks is such a cute notebook. So you use yours for memory keeping? If you wanna test out if A5 is at all something for you, you could always cut some loose sheets of paper to size and test out the size first before buying a new notebook :) And yes you're right-anything with anthropomorphic animals I love :)

    I’m a huge reader so anything with books or reading is perfect. In summer I’m to be found in front of a fan as I am not a lover of hot weather! What book was it you showed that you’d put your typewriter kitty on please? Maybe a cat reading her Kindle would be good, as that’s what I use most of the time. I love books - the smell, the feel - but my Kindle is the one technology I couldn’t live without. I read so many books on Kindle Unlimited and I love how I can adjust the backlight to read in the dark, or make the text bigger for my older eyes.

  • @MaikeOatley

    I’m so glad you like all the reading cats! And I’ll definitely draw one with a kindle ☺️ I prefer physical books too (except when I’m moving 😬). But Kindle and eBooks are quite convenient from time to time. That notebook is a Hobonichi Grid notebook in A5. I covered the yellow cardstock that they use for the cover with some off-white paper I had.

    I have been drawing events from my days in a sketchbook these last few weeks..i just drew a scene last night from a few weeks ago, of being on the highway heading to the ranch and we were behind heavy traffic and there was this truck in front of us that had a cow drawn on the rear doors! So I took a photo and then last nightcI drew it. It was also the first day that our usual exit was closed. I have also drawn my yoga mat in the park too..

    I hope you find a way to keep the washi tape attached to your cookbook I think the pattern is very fitting. I really enjoyed your video. 👍 I totally relate to not feeling like journaling or drawing and just writing with pencil or using a small notebook. If your Minnie is metal(magnetic) you could try popping off the pin part and using a tiny, strong neodymium disc magnet back. I’m rather cautious when traveling with enamel or magnetic pins attached to my pouch, so I remove mine. I hope the move ends up a move for the better, and maybe a blessing in disguise.

    Sí, se deshilacha un poco en ambos sentidos ya que los bordes no tienen dobladillo. Puedes aplicar un producto llamado "Fray Check" que es un poco como pegamento que ayuda a que las telas no se deshilachen.
