The Afterburn Podcast

The Afterburn Podcast

My name is John Waters. I am a former F-16 pilot and general aviation enthusiast. Follow along as I share a bit of my past and current experiences.

I am fortunate to have flown over 2,500 hours and 180 combat missions in various military aircraft. So far: the F-16C/D, MC-12W, T-38C, T-6II, C-172, C-152, DA-20...and more to come. I am currently a 777 pilot flying all across the globe.

Check out www.theafterburnpodcast.com/ where I chat with people from various backgrounds to learn about their journey through life.

The pilot definitely took it light on her because I seen another clip of a guy in the cockpit and he was spun unconscious 😂

It really sucks that people with no particular love of aviation are the only people who get to go on flights in fighter jets. Always some press member with 0 knowledge of flying or planes. Especially considering today’s media are complete scumbags makes it really nauseating. Dude is scared to death while flying with the one of the very best in the business, a U.S. military pilot. No need to to worry, just act like you’re his normal backwater with no responsibility but enjoying. I’d be on cloud 9, no pun intended.

Worked on f15s for 8 years before working on f35s. Those max climbs are awesome. If you did something cool, you can get an incentive flight. We(crew chiefs) use to get people from the other side of the base who knew nothing about aircraft, get these flights. It was always a joy to see the before and afters. 7/10 were normal. The last 30% was worth it. Puke, crying, didnt know where they were. A few of them thought they were in the Marines. One guy swore George Bush was STILL the president. G-lock aint no joke. You wake up from that and forget reality all together.

They are real super heroes. No other arm is ahead of them. They are at the TOP of food chain. Second in line are Commandos, third Armoured Corps and 4th Submariners. All wankers are down the lane me being at the end (signaler)😅

I worked on '16s, and seeing videos of other aircraft like the F-18 you appreciate how clean the view is for piolet. Only the hub "obstructs" the vision.
