Most camera makers used aperture priority but Canon preferred shutter priority as they said it was batter to stop motion. I did not get it then as with aperture priority you can just set the largest aperture and the shutter speed is minimized. The argument would make more sense on modern digital cameras with auto ISO. Having both modes was a an exception and used in high end cameras like Canon A-1.

Apple successfully transitioned from technology brand to luxury brand around 2015 with the release of the Apple Watch and its 10 page spread on Vogue Magazine. If you read Scott Galloway's book The Four, he explains why Apple made the transition to luxury brand. The transition started around 2013 when Apple announced Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts will join Apple as head of retail, she's responsible for renovating all Apple Stores, that's why the stores look like what they are now, it was because of her. Also in that same year, Apple released the iPhone 5S, and it came in the color gold to signal luxury, and a year later, with the iPhone 6 event, they unveiled the Apple Watch, and it was also available in 18K gold option for $10,000. And just before it was officially released, they had a 10 page spread on Vogue and a cover on Vogue China. Scott Galloway said in his book that a lot of technology brands aren't timeless, and Apple wants to survive decades more in the future, so they decided to transition to luxury. Instead of remaining a technology brand that's in the same neighborhood has HP, Lenovo, and Motorola, they decided to move to LVMH, Kering, and Hermés' neighborhood of luxury houses. Apple is now a luxury house. It has all the elements of a luxury house. By doing so, they hoist the brand away from the noise of technology brands fighting for meager profit margins and fading brand strength. And now Apple is timeless, just like luxury brands, that have been around for centuries. It's no coincidence that Apple partnered with a heritage luxury brand that operates in the same way as Apple, and that is, Hermés to create Hermés editions of the Apple Watch. This is all a strategy to guarantee Apple's survival as a brand, because in the world of technology, technology brands have a short shelf life, while luxury is timeless and long-lasting. Apple used to appeal to tech-enthusiasts, now it's appealing to the middle-class and upper-middle class. And they have successfully done that.
