Very interesting video showing the city where I was born and raised. Couple Details. Its cathedral Saint Jean not Paul and the famous world heritage district is Saint Jean. Fourviève is a basilaca not a cathedral. It was built in the late 19th century. From its esplanade, with clear weather you can see the Alps.
@@jacqueline6926 thank you very much) my husband is from Lyon but I have never lived here only visited and searched the internet for the info. Good to know correct names! Hopefully my video about Paris is correct)
The district you call Saint Paul is in fact Saint Jean. The fountain on place des terreaux represents not France but the Garonne river. Everything you mention is very interesting but you will never manage to see all that in one day.
@@sylviefournier1833 Thanks! I will double check with my husband he is from Lyon and he told me that. Well, I walked a lot, took a bus tour and a boat cruise. In one day no, but 3 days possible. I say in one day for people to choose and see their options to visit.
Belle Vue imprenable
@@LauraHaag-j7e merci! Have you seen my other videos about France?

A few mistakes, but nice video ^^
@@claudio3970 thank you, what exact mistakes are you talking about please?
@@NathaliesWorld9 Traboules are not a secret, Fourvière is not a cathedral, and it is Vieux Lyon, not quartier St Paul ... some things like this ...

@@prashantghodke1547 thank you for watching! Enjoy my other Thailand series!
Enjoyed watching your wildlife adventure in Kaeng Krachan National Park In Thailand. A big LIKE for the video. Greetings from Singapore.
Thank you! I need to come back! Just wait for my son to grow up a bit
Nice video! I would like to visit this national park in September. What is the name of the hotel you stayed in this video?
I recommend you staying in Baan Maka Nature Lodge I stayed in my third trip you can see in this video) the owners are birdwatchers themselves so they can provide a lot of interesting info and you can watch many birds around the lodge too kzread.info/dash/bejne/a2qr0K-CXdu-lZM.htmlsi=VwvPNbbhE_4mb-yI
Thank you so much for this!
No worries! More Australian birds to go! instagram.com/amazing_birds_and_nature?igsh=MXFqZ2dwcHBtcDM4bw%3D%3D&
Thanks for all beaches information🎉
Hey! Lovely video ❤❤ Can you please tell which month did you go in and were there any leeches on the trail? Also do you recomend any bird guide for this area?
Hey, I went 3 times) you can see my another episode 3 for sea of clouds trail I didn’t go last time as the ride has been closed due to rainy season. We went during rainy season the first 2 episodes, and the episode 3 we went during spring I think. I never have any leeches on me, so I think I am lucky, but my husband sometimes gets one or two. I recommend staying in Baan Maka Lodge and a get a guide from there. maps.app.goo.gl/F2HQ1koyhMVtxNV38?g_st=ic that’s a little hotel run by owner who are bird watchers themselves! Hope you will have a great time there!
@@NathaliesWorld9 thank you so much for your insight! Happy travels!

For the traveller from Paris, and that city’s rather monochrome palette of grey to greyer (with splashes of very intermittent colour to relieve the gloom, for Paris knows that it’s a resolutely northern place, and its buildings reflect those often cloudy skies), the first thing that strikes you about Lyon, 250 miles to the south, are the warm colours. Someone described the city’s overall appearance as like a crate of peaches ripening in the sun and this captures it nicely, as the red roofs and sun-bleached, fading stone more than hint of Le Midi, a hop-skip-and-jump down the Rhône Valley (Vienne? Valence? Montélimar?). It’s no accident that Lyon is almost exactly on the same latitude as Milan and Venice, as there is more than a hint of the Italianate in the ochre walls. Lyon is a lovely open city, with significant elevation on one side - reminiscent of Grenoble - looking east over the rivers divided by Presqu'île across the rest of town. The most charming bit is the oldest bit, as is always the case in most French (and other countries’) cities. I almost gave myself a double hernia trying to romp up Fourvière Hill, but the pain soon eased when I clocked the majestic views from atop. There are also significant Roman ruins up here that are more extensive than I’d expected; a couple of theatres and other sundry bits and bobs. Least said about the Basilica (a sort of Romanesque/Byzantine mess of a mash-up) itself, the better. The reason to be up here are the views. The best church in Lyon is the main cathedral just down the hill. The rest of the time is best spent just aimlessly wandering. The old working-class district of La Croix-Rousse, is a (slightly gentrified) throwback to Lyon’s industrial past; a kind of self-contained village within the city. Place Bellecour, the city’s main square is a big, pompous, unwieldy thing and resembles nothing so much as a military parade ground. You can imagine Napoleon rallying his troops here on his way back from exile, (even if he never did). But minor quibbles aside, Lyon can easily cope with 3 days of your life. I still can’t quite decide if its ‘northern’ or ‘southern’, though; I have always personally marked the start of Le Midi on this side of France at Montélimar, but on a midsummer’s day in Lyon, with the cicadas’ electric buzzing filling the air: this could well be the ‘true’ south. But where oh, where, are the shutters?!
Wow! Thank you for taking your time and writing such a long comment about Lyon) maybe you can add something about my video about Paris kzread.info/dash/bejne/dGaptNOEg6Sbnso.htmlsi=eZdfvrcj20FZJp3L
Nice video. Was hoping you would explain how to get from one place to the next using public transport
Oh! Then it will be 2 hours video)
@@NathaliesWorld9 Lol. I can't seem to find no video like the other cities of people showing how to buy tickets and the cost and etc lol. But I found some website blogs explaining it. Guess I will buy like 24hr ticket. Thank you
I mostly walked between all the sights
About 2/3 of this video is of one Arrondissement (the fifth). Just about everything you see here except the Confluence is walkable, though both the Croix-Rousse and Fourvière districts are extremely hilly.
Don't worry it's quite easy here. Subways will take you anywhere next to you destination then you'll take a five minute walk. and you'll always find someone who speaks english to help you :)
What's your Instagram id
the scene with the sunflowers in the background is simply magnificent 🌻🌻🌻
Thank you very much! It’s one of my favorite scenes in my videos
This was a fantastic tour and breakdown of the island. I was there in august 2016, and I can’t believe how much had changed after seeing your video. Like, I only remember there being two 7-11s on the island. (Although I was pretty inebriated most of my time there 😋). That view from the southern tip of the island is absolutely breathtaking
