  If you missed the *EXCEPTIONALLY, TEDIOUSLY REPETITIVE* and HIGHLY woke episode of "Country File" which mansplained all this pointless flashlight waving, KEEP IT THAT WAY - save yourself ~45 mins of tedious, pandering, over-hype-building WOKE JUNK. I like Country File, but this is NOT something which belonged there, and the whole "LOOK! LOOK EVERYONE! LOOK HOW CLEVER WE ARRRRRE!" shite for 45 mins, wore thin, even after TEN mins. Slow, panning shots, tedious and pandering language, just SHOVE IT please, BBC, we don't GAF about your wokery jokery. It's not that this end product is, in itself, "bad", it's the whole pandering BBC bullshit that mansplained its' way up to the end result 🤦🏼‍♂

  I don’t understand how this helps connect humans to nature. Bringing noise and light into a beautiful quiet dark space? Are we incapable of appreciating anything that’s not loud and bright? Maybe I’m missing something!

  I was super excited to be one of the little lights on Slieve Donard - the Mourne Mountains - wonderful place and a memorable experience. But I subsequently felt used and extremely disappointed at the lack of transparency when I found out that this was funded through the Festival of Brexit commissioned by Theresa May. This was never disclosed in any of the emails and frankly that was a very poor approach to "disclosures". Yes, the emails say "Unboxed" but when when you look at the information the Unboxed site there is zero detail about this. I mean - this is Northern Ireland, which voted No to Brexit. Bad bad manners these.

  There's a reason for that. The entire project was commissioned under the festival of brexit idea, but it quickly got hijacked - the funding that paid for it was essentially forcibly redirected into the hands of individual artists- some of whom deliberatly spent it on projects that opposed the government, nearly every single project was created by someone who disliked brexit- and they kept the name miles away from it. The Tour De Moon project for example was essentially a fraud commited by an artist to take government funds and put them into the hands of young creatives across the country from working class communities with no intention of making anyone feel any better. This project was also never intentioned to have any real impact other than to create that "wonderful place and memorable experience". The dandelion project was held in scotland, and not a single attendant knew about it's origins. So basically don't worry about it- these art projects went unnoticed by most, the ones who do know about it do not give the government or Brexit any credit at all for their creation, in fact this is an active embarressment for the conservatives. Hence why the name was changed. Essentially the artists were given money and creative freedom - you enjoyed the experience, My taxpayer money went to you standing on a hill having a good time. Live and let live.

  Environmentally friendly kind of doesn’t really equate to cars/bus loads of people turning up to tramp all over the country side, let off flares and create light pollution.. what am I missing other than a group of seemingly entitled humans went out to create something the northern lights do naturally and call it art. Missing what exactly is supposed to be kind to the environment doing this … Mmmm

  A great film, it resonates with the beauty of North Wales and the folk who live here. I was an illuminator along with my friends, and we all got to experience the copper mine for the first time. It was magical and particularly in the moonlight, with the array of colours bouncing off the copper. We all had an extraordinary time. Thank you to all those who made the Dark Skys Open Spaces happen.
