    What type of layout would you recommend for a bowler with match speed and revs with a P.A.P of 4 1/2 right and 3/8 down. Want a layout for playing straight and one for moving left and hooking the lane. Really appreciate yall

    as a former lane man, forward oil sets up the base of your pattern, the reverse oil set up how long the oil patter will last. so 75% oil on the forward pass and 25% oil on reverse will make the pattern break down faster than a 50/50 forward to reverse oil pattern for kegel machines. plus, dont forget what lane oil to which makes a difference along with drop brush. mo pinel has a good video about it

    We had a old 1990s DBA oil only wick pad machine, and to get more load we would have to run each lane twice with a pattern then just a pattern for the heads up to the board break. After a lane strip , we couldn’t put enough oil to be playable with the 2007-2010 bowling ball covers. We used the Kegel Key to get backend reaction and clean decks.

    Either Chris is really struggling or this ball sucks, lol. Little light; 2-8-10 split. Little high; big 4 split. Not caring the light hits, doesn't seem to stay in the pocket. I wonder how this ball compares to the Exotic Gem.

  • @djbelc01

    Not every ball is going to look good on every condition. This is a big, rolly piece with a super strong cover and core, it's doing pretty much what I expected it to do on a house shot. Barnzy may not have been throwing it his best, but he was also on a condition that it wasn't really matching up with for him. Put down a longer and higher volume pattern and I bet you'd see a very different story. For example, I love my Gem, it's an excellent control piece for me that can handle oil when I'm on longer sport patterns, but it generally looks awful when I try to throw it on a house shot, since it burns up in the friction and doesn't hold in the oil.

  • @lockedonlaw

  • @ripvanrevs

    Shiny balls can be too unpredictable fo me. I find they either don't hook at all or they go sideways when they hit friction.

  • @lockedonlaw

    @@ripvanrevs I want them to go sideways when they hit friction, not before the hit friction like dull balls do.

  • @anthonyjovanovich8666

    Can get away with that philosophy on house patterns. Players want the ball rolling IN the pattern on sport patterns. Reactions are too unpredictable especially on fresh sport patterns without using surface to smooth the ball motion. Completely different approaches between house & sport

  • @lockedonlaw
    @lockedonlaw24 күн бұрын

    @@anthonyjovanovich8666 Some players want the ball rolling before the end of the pattern. Those players are probably speed dominant and need the ball to roll early because it will never roll late. Not everyone is an 18MPH+ 600RPM+ bowler.

    Heavy oil patterns call for surface and dull balls. I have the opposite mentality actually, I say its easier to make a ball hook less than it is to make it hook more

    Initially, I was actually thinking about getting that harsh reality pearl to go along with me 100% going to Vise It Thumbs but for me the harsh reality pearl is going to be way too smooth and ball. That’s kind of supposed to be a house killer it’s gonna be a no go i’m deciding to go with the attention star instead

    Can slow down fast response balls with surface, but you cannot speed up slow response balls with polish.
