And more. If there are Americans here who have been working all their lives. Farmers. Cowboys. Who love country music. Know that! We are Russians, for you! We are the same. And country music is close to us. And we like this song. We respect smart, hardworking and honest people. We understand them. And no one likes parasites!✊

I'm Russian. I've been living in Kazashtan all my life. 45 years ago, when I was just a kid, I heard this melody on the radio performed by The Shadows electric guitars. And so my life has passed, now I have found this song. I've heard it sung by many singers. Everyone is good in their own way. But FRANKIE LAINE has it best of all!❤

Let's call it like it is. Marty is every bit or better a songwriter than Lennon, McCartney, Jagger/Richards, Bob Dylan or Paul Simon. The guy was/is a genius singer and genius songwriter.

An old cowboy went riding out One dark and windy day Upon a ridge he rested As he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd Of red eyed cows he saw Plowin' through the ragged skies And up the cloudy draw Their brands were still on fire And their hooves were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny And their hot breath he could feel A bolt of fear went through him As they thundered through the sky For he saw the riders coming hard And he heard their mournful cry Yippie-yi-o Yippie-yi-yay Ghost riders in the sky Their faces gaunt Their eyes were blurred Their shirts all soaked with sweat He's riding hard to catch that herd But he ain't caught 'em yet 'Cause they've got to ride forever On that range up in the sky On horses snorting fire As they ride on, hear their cry As the riders loped on by him He heard one call his name 'If you wanna save your soul From hell a-riding on our range Then, cowboy, change your ways today Or with us you will ride Trying to catch the devil's herd Across these endless skies

Beautiful story well sung, and accompanied by a wonderfully well chosen set of pictures. I was born a farmer's son, I am now 86 and can appreciate all this content. The modern generation will never understand, even as we try to tell them their history - until they are old themselves maybe '
