  I'm Russian. I've been living in Kazashtan all my life. 45 years ago, when I was just a kid, I heard this melody on the radio performed by The Shadows electric guitars. And so my life has passed, now I have found this song. I've heard it sung by many singers. Everyone is good in their own way. But FRANKIE LAINE has it best of all!❤

  Beautiful story well sung, and accompanied by a wonderfully well chosen set of pictures. I was born a farmer's son, I am now 86 and can appreciate all this content. The modern generation will never understand, even as we try to tell them their history - until they are old themselves maybe '
