    A new noname person with a channel theoretically can do something really mindboggling like solve a brilliant problem or craft something... but for that new user with 0 subs it would be nothing but uphill battle. S/he can do all the things right: right thumbnail, good title, tags, keywords, subtitles, good editing... sometimes it just boils down to pure luck. Or else all those cra-ppy shorts wouldn't surface to see the daylight and 60 million views. Then again if that is what public wants so be it. Let their brain rot. Also KZread likes to push certain type of contents that THEY find agreeble with. Not always the popular video reflects current taste of the populace.

Also you can back it up since you have a video with over million views. First time viewer, so not sure what your brand is... but this is a good topic to hear from you!

    I also feel like those types of ads are useless and always skip past them. Some creators put in chapters that make it easier to skip the ad which I appreciate. I think the issue stems from ad-blockers neutering all the google ads which cut into the creator's budget. Some of them likely felt they had no other option but to have these baked sponsored ads. Ya'll were smart setting up your membership stuff off site you can skip the ad stuff all together.

    Brian - As a retired person who writes music and offers it through a Creative Commons license at the cost of simply giving me credit in the description, since I own 100% of the rights I can offer you (or, actually, any other creator reading this) a group of clips for use, abuse, or non-use. Just let me know what you're looking for and its length and I'd be glad to send you something to have in your pocket to do with as you wish. This is a hobby of mine (I've got over 200 full-length pieces on my blog) so remuneration is not a thing.

  • @Brianized
    @BrianizedАй бұрын

    Thanks! I really appreciate the offer. I might not take you up on it much though as usually when editing, it's a spur of the moment feeling type of thing what music I need, so, it's hard to place an order, so to speak, but it's really cool you're offering that.

    I have to wonder if it's actually pixabay themselves or a copyright troll just being awful. This happens a lot in the gaming world, specifically with nintendo. Copyright trolls will claim a video on behalf of nintendo and instead of doing due diligence, youtube just strikes it or warns the channel or whatever and gives revenue to nintendo. Not saying its the case here, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility.

  • @Brianized

    I have had the same issue with GoPro music. I even used the same song in a short and it had no issues used it in a video and it had a copyright. I really wish they would just take a small percentage for copyright music especially if it was only a few seconds of a song. Using the whole song is one thing using 10 or 20 seconds is another.

    I used Pixabay for a while but I didn't read the fine print that says it is not for commercial use. I got a few copyright claims from them too. I was able to use the KZread edit tool to change the music. So I was able to keep my ad revenue for my videos. I have a Motion Array subscription now but I still get copyright claims. I have to copy my Motion Array license to use the music and submit it to get the claim removed. It's kind of annoying.

  • @Brianized
    @BrianizedАй бұрын

    It's not just youtube. Also, it's copyright violation, not YT's fault at all. If they didn't do anything when someone files a claim, they would be legally liable. YT isn't filing the claims, people are. Is it an exploit? Sure, but it's not just YT.

  • @kh73068
    @kh73068Ай бұрын

    But it IS YT's duty to do Due Dilligence, so that IS TY's fault

  • @Brianized
    @BrianizedАй бұрын

    Due diligence of what? They are doing what is legally required when a copyright claim is made. They are not a legal or governing body and have no right to judge on that claim. All they can do is alert the other parties and go from there. They do have systems in place to protect both sides. YT is totally not culpable in this.

  • @zonman
    @zonmanАй бұрын

    Brian, it's not just Pixabay. I have musician friends who have put THEIR OWN original music in KZread videos and wound up in the same situation as you because someone claimed the music as their own. These scammers make money off copyright claims when KZread forces the content creators to either split their revenue or risk not being allowed to generate any for a period of time, as you stated here. So I'm not defending Pixabay specifically, but letting you know the same shenanigans are happening to others with no connection to them.

    In 2006 I had my hip replaced. The surgeon informed me that quitting smoking 1 month before surgery would extremely improve the odds of successful surgery and full recovery. Even though I had smoked for over 41 years, major surgery was a darn good reason to stop. The morning I quit smoking, there were 3 cigarettes on my end table. I still have them. After not smoking for over a month I realized that I no longer wanted to smoke but I didn't even like smelling second hand smoke. Plus the money I saved was huge. I have followed you for over 3 years. You are a very smart and capable man. Quitting smoking will not only improve your health, but also your sense of taste and smell as well. Hang in there, I have confidence in you.

    I would only add that one should try to play their stats as well. I'm currently in an online game where I'm playing a character with a low Wisdom score. I've been repeatedly making poor judgment calls on his behalf, like charging into fights that are very iffy when the party's resources are low, or doing foolish/dangerous things to spring traps, etc. Many of my fellow party members say, "No, Dave, what are you *doing*? You're going to get killed! Can't you see how many of them there are? I only have one heal spell left!" To which I reply, "Take a look at my Wisdom! My character doesn't make good decisions often!" They've learned to coach my character ahead of time and give him a party member to pay attention to for cues on what to do. "From now on, you don't attack unless you see Bultorn attack first!" Which leaves me happily holding initiative to see what he's doing first. LOL I love it. But you can play other abilities too. Like if your character has a low Dex, he/she will have a much harder time being confident crossing that rope bridge, etc. Love the new hair Derica! Don't worry, as a DM I've had worse on-the-fly name generation than "Princess Doofusface." LMAO. But not by much.
