I grew up with it and still a fan. After all these years the repetitiveness of it all however becomes ever more blatant. Do not get me wrong though. Not the minimalism which is part of the style. What I mean is that much of this could have been made by one artist / band. Even today the world is still full of people locked in the same repetitive loop. The style has almost become set in stone and everything deviating from it is not accepted. That is extra sad because in electronic music so much more is possible. Still enjoying this while typing though.

The top layer is repetitive, its purpose is to provide a reference for the melodies below, which in real good versions of this type of music, express feelings in a musical language .

@@g1motion Exactly! Personality and talent create diversity. And that is what is missing nowadays. One used to recognize people like Vangelis and JM Jarre by their personal style. 😁
