  Japanese historians refer to Yasuke as a samurai, all these weaboos are crying about wokeness and showing themselves to be the fool they are. Historians acknowledge that he was a retainer, but also most likely a samurai, while we don't have hard evidence that he was, the evidence we do have from first hand records written by people at the time show that Yasuke was treated and respected in a way similar to what a samurai would be. Therefore, historians - japanese and western historians alike - treat Yasuke as and agree that he was a samurai. These bigoted and ignorant fools online can think what they want but history doesn't care about their hurt sensitive minds.

  Go do more of that research. He was not a samuurai he was a slave bought by Oda Nobunaga. He was a retainer. The only known painting of Yasuke is him standing behind Nobunaga holding his umbrella in the sun. That was his job. He carried the real samurai's weapons and tools. As part of the task, he was treated with high regard and kindness by given a small property a shack on the edge of city. and was given a short sword literal japanese translation of a Tanto.... A 6-inch-long dagger. He held no power nor authority. He was shown off at social events and in streets to perform tricks, feats of strength, or physical prowess. He towered over the general population standing at a believed 6'2 back when the average japanese man was around 5'1 to 5'3 Nobunaga often reffered to him as Saru (Monkey) and others would often shout at him saying kyodai kaiju (giant monster) As others have mentioned he was brought to Japan as a slave by a catholic Jesuit missionary from Portugal. He was that missionary's attendant. One of the actual samurai threatened to kill him in the street for carrying his tanto in public until he was corrected by one of Nobunaga's Advisors. It is worth noting that yes Nobunaga treated him a very high level of respect and kindness for a man of his station. He is noted to enjoy speaking to Yasuke at length about various subjects, however Yasuke did not know much japanese when he arrived. Roughly 3 words. Nobunaga had a large infatuation with change and foreign or new things. At this time in Japanese culture and history. There would be no way a foreigner would be allowed to be a Samurai. You had to be born into noble blood, and illegitimate children or mistresses did not count. The only one who could grant a title like that was the emperor who was viewed as a living god and that was only done in his service and was exceedingly rare. In thousands of years of history you could count on one hand how many times it was done.

  William Adams is a more of a better foreigner who actually served Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu. Yasuke however was more of a bag carrier/pet for Lord Oda Nobunaga. He even has the killmonger haircut in the 1700s . And I bet modern woke values are going to be inserted in a game set in Sengoku Era Japan. Stop pretending to "neutral". Far from it.

  How did this end up on my feed on YT. The trash spouted in this misinformed video is wild and completely missing the point of why ppl who actually played the games since the first are annoyed with the choice of Yasuke instead of making him an npc like EVERY OTHER HISTORICAL FIGURE THATS BEEN IN THE AC GAMES SINCE INCEPTION. But just claim racism where there isnt any outside of like 3% of the ppl because they are trolling you morons but then being exactly what you call us by one erasing the spot of an ACTUAL Japanese historical figure from the time period which btw were many to chose from and appropriating a culture in the dumbest most out of pocket way possible but its ok because its not a "white person" because according to yall all the AC games have had were white people(a blatant lie btw).
