In your assessment of these firearms, you have badly misunderstood my desire to go home. I love to be at home and sit around and watch these gun videos on the KZread.

That was awesome! I got a S&W 460 magnum when it came out to do handgun hunting. Also no other gun has the round and bullet weight versatility. My kids shot it from the bench with 45 black power Schofield and the gun didn't move. CLEAN WELL AFTER BEFORE SHOOTING AND CHANGE COMP BEFORE SHOOTING 45 LC , 454 Casull, 460mag. I hand loaded shortened( to clear cylinder to barrel when unfolded)410 shot shells too. The rifling makes the pattern spread but still fun. Or just shoot the CCI rat shot. But remove the compensator or buy the blank one but they $150. I got a Burris pistol scope,300 yrds easy amazing gun!

Well done video! As for recoil, I had an S & W 29 with target grips, OUCH!!!!!! yes grips can make a difference. John Linebaugh had a very useful method of handling recoil, look it up, its short but watch carefully and you will see the method.

I cracked the cylinder on a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter by overloading it by 30%. Ruger, Knowing the overloading issue, repaired it, including shipping both ways, at no cost to me. Which is why I own a number of Ruger handguns.

I loved the feel of safety carrying my 475 linebaugh in the woods in Alaska. Too many rounds of 420 grain copper jacketed hornady got heavy when walking longer distances, though.

I never saw anyone else shoot like my dad when he shot a gun with major recoil. He would lock his wrist and elbow but totally relax his shoulder so the gun would end up pointing straight up after each shot. That worked very well for him, but I could never master that technique.

.45 Winmag was the Canadian government's idea in the form of .45 NACCO. It was developed for the prototype Brigadeer pistol which was essentially a scaled up Browning Hi Power. The gun was not adopted as a Canadian military sidearm and Winchester started shopping the cartridge around as .45 Win Mag.

How is the plow handle grip on your BFR with the wood grips. I was thinking about getting the plow handle grips, but most people seem to like the BFR Bisley grips better.

I have shot some of those 600 gr Aria loads and they are crazy powerful. I got 1465 fps from my 8.375 inch x frame. Hardest recoil too. I fired one without a glove and one hand and it had some pain involved. Theres a recoil warning on the package.

If you want more power then buy a bigger gun. .50 S&W, X-frame revolvers are available. Stop trying to shoehorn a 427 CID engine into a VW beetle.

I own my beloved late fathers freedom arms 454 casul. We were all as a family all about recoil and being in the 80's not alot yoo pick from. My dad was the only person in Southern Indiana, that i was aware of, that owned one. He bought one as soon as he could order it with dies so he could load his own,a few a little too spicy lol. Its a beautiful low serial number gun that still too this day holds a special place in my heart

I was surprised but my 629 cylender is longer than my redhawk cylender. The 340 grain +p+ fit in the 629 with room to spare but they come to the very end of my redhawk cylender. I never shot them out of the 629 though.

Some cartridges in my opinion just ain't practical for handguns, thus giving them little reason for existence. A handgun cartrige need to be able to reach optimum performance in a weapon of practical design, weight and size without beating up the shooter or the pistol. You can probably build a handgun that will be able to shoot a 90mm round in a handgun if you scale up a single action revolver enough. The .500S&W is a good example. The 10mm also had its problems, being known to beat up pistols.

    5. Agreed, but your point of "just go for a 45" is a bit misleading considering you put 45 further up the list and talked about the 45 not being best in its class. IMO, just buy a 10mm. 4. Disagreed, Man... I understand your point. Everyone and their brother knows a 44mag. But ahhgg. It kind of IS that legendary. maybe "icon" is a better word. 3. Agreed. Just a bragging rights cartridge. 2. Agreed. It's absolutely an icon, but outclassed. It still has its place, though. 1. Agreed, exists for the DE

I bought one about two months ago. As the manual said it takes about 500 rounds to get it broke in. The feed ramp needed a little polishing. Early problems with failures to feed. But now after 1000 rounds of hardball it is very reliable and very accurate. It is not light fully loaded but very stable. I love mine❤ !

No matter how cool your Colt SAA 1873 is, NEVER load 6 rounds. Only load 5. ALWAYS leave an empty cylinder under the hammer to avoid accidental death. Anyone not observing this safety rule should not handle this style revolver with a firing pin that protrudes into the cylinder when the hammer is down. Clear enough?
