Amazing review, well articulated - thank you.
Was this the 2024 edition?
Yes and thanks for watching!
👍👌👍👌🍻🥃😎🤩✌️
if you identified the cork as an issue, you probably haven't got enough Signatory vases :) They have got plenty of them, from lots of distilleries, check them out. I like best the Bunnahabhain 1st fill Sherry Butts 11-13yo - hopefully you can find them in the US as well.
$69 here in NY
I would like to try both.
Picked up the Turbo in Chicago for $69. $55 is just a steal. One dram in - I have found it to be almost incomparable. Notes of incense, eucalyptus, cigar box, bbq liver, tanned leather and gentle bonfire. Brooding was the perfect adjective 👍 A few months of bottle aging will help with integration and extending the finish. An early whisky of the year candidate. P.S. Glenallachie ought to be commended for not pricing this as limited edition 5YO Octomore competitor.
Congrats to you for getting a Meikle Toir here in the US. Not anywhere near me in NJ. Linkwood is delicious and so rich and decadent. Total favorite.
The ppm was measured at the end right before bottling if I understood while I saw the video of Billy walker
Very helpful.
What about the vacuum tops, often associated with wine bottles. I worry that it isn't easy to see if the seal is lost. Also seeking advice on cork replacements. Too many times have I felt the cork twistin the bottle, so I'd like to get some replacements to have on hand.
Tastes much better now that they went to a much better distillery.
What are your thoughts on skyy vodka?
My recollection is of it being an expensive vodka that’ll get the job done in a cocktail - not too much more. Cheers!
Rip to Russian vodka’s lol. We can’t get them anymore
I would have to agree. Touchstone is amazing. I went and bought a backup bottle and there was the last one in my area.
En español es bueno o malo?
Picked up the grump 14 yr from Belize. Defo was powerful to start. But really opened up past the shoulder imo. 😁🙌🏻🤤
I have been a big fan of the PinHook Rye vertical series starting with the 5 yr
How did I get this 9 year old video recommended. It’s currently July 2024. Interesting to see some of these bourbons that are now so hard to find and increased greatly in price.
Excellent head to head. I’m glad you did this. As our pallets align most of the time. Excited to crack these two open in the future.
Lots of people stay away from celebriti whiskey but brothers bond is solid not bad… well done by the vampire dudes..
btavh 6 is so good
If you never have been in Crimea and tried their local wine, you will, probably, think that best wine comes from France or Italy. With vodka it's similar: you will never appreciate taste of real quality vodka, unless you visit Russia and try their native vodkas..
Balcones' rums are no joke. Thanks for bringing a couple to the channel.
That was a very comprehensive review. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it and cheers! 🥃
You can run plastic jug vodka through a brita pitcher and make it taste like the mid to upper range stuff. Your welcome.
Will you be doing a review on the longmorn 22? I saw that its priced at $420 where I'm at. Seems like righteous bucks, but i saw that it has a completely different flavor profile compared to the 18. Im debating currently, but just nit sure if i can do it hahaha.
So I don’t own one, but I have tried it side by side with the 18. It is better (slightly more tropical), but to me it’s not enough to justify the additional $150 over the 18 ($270 vs. $420). Cheers!
@@LiquorHound This is very true. Thank you for your insight, I really appreciate it. I'll probably go with the 18 then, I really wish they would have released a 25 year at that price point of the 22. Longmorn 16 is by far top 3, if not my favorite scotch I've got to try so far. Thank you for your time again.
I might have to try the bahkta. I am sure the others are great, however my bank account is not set up for most of those selections. Lol.
I thought Beluga Noble Russian Vodka, Belvedere Polish Vodka, and Grey Goose French Vodka were the top three Vodkas ever made. I didn't try the others but I like Beluga the most.
Not a huge rum fan at all but I do like Barrel!
I always enjoy your reviews LH. Thanks for keeping it going.
Another great review my brotha. We need to taste some of these soon.
Yes we do and cheers!
I thought Gregarious Grump was defunct as a brand
I’m not sure tbh. But I still see it on shelves a lot. Cheers!
Too bad Kris Hart is such an awful, disrespectful grifter. His bottlings are a mockery of the great passionate rum folks in the industry and he'll not be receiving any of my money. He's rude, a misogynist, and is trying to jump into an industry he knows nothing about.
I spirit in my life
Have you had one since that was better than the Blend of Mashbills?
Bro is this ur home or another location cause your library is impressive…I do listen to what you say but lot of times I’m zooming in to you library to see what you’ve got. Excellent vid! Thx!
Is Hammer & Sickle still around? I have a bottle from 2016 I got from Binny's for $14. I don't see them anymore
Just picked up the B 18 at total wine for $166 and also grabbed a 1792 full proof for about $50. Going to wait until fall to get into both as I’m taking a break from drinking this summer. I’m super excited about the B18. It’s sitting next to my Oban 18 and Knob Hill 18. Sitting there just looking at me 😂 Fall can’t come soon enough. Thanks for the video, Chris!
That’s awesome! Cheers to you and those great finds! 🥃
Titos should never be on anyones top list, rubbish.
I know this sounds stupid.. But man how do you know how to this? And for how long have you been doing this? You've definitely Mastered Your Craft
Not at all. Just like anything, it just takes practice. A wine nosing kit helped me a lot early on. From there it was just experience as many spirits as I could - to build my mental library. I’m now in my 30th year and I’m still working on it. Thanks for the great question and cheers!
Watching in 2024 thinking about buying the 125th on auction for $600-700 lol
🤤🤤🤤👌👍👌👍🍻🥃😎✌️🤩
Nice!
I would have put in a Michters 10 with this line up. I believe it was sourced up until 2015 from the same distillery so at least for this year and next year's release it would likely be the same juice.
Great video Chris. I never see these early times’ in CA unfortunately nor any cooper crafts 100s. I did see the OF1924 at Costco for $120 but still didn’t pick it up because like you said, it’s not double the value of a 1920 or even a 1910 for 50-60 dollars. Love your videos. Would pick up a 1924 for $100 but no more. Tons of great bourbon for less. And if I really want to spend $130-$140 I’ll pick up a Calumet 16 or 15 I still see on the shelves. 16 year old at 53% abv is worth the price. Cheers.
As always, thanks for the reviews!
Im flying ANA first class from SFO to Tokyo in August and they have Hibiki 17 on the flight. I can’t wait to get that. I need to learn to appreciate whiskey’s a bit more before I go.
I saw this video, had a glass of Disco 11 and immediately went to a glass of plastic top ET. That stuff was so good
Is this also the same mashbill as King of Kentucky ?
