I was also very pleased with the 3,5 liter in the G350, but it has one weakness that i got the bad experience of: weak piston rods...😑 You have definitely done something right with your setup if you have no heating problems with such a powerful OM606 build! I'll definitely copy some of your modifications! The tuned up OM606 builds use to get some heat problems if they have original cooling system. I guess the intercooler have to get some of the credit for that because it's HUGE compared to the original one on the G300! I asked if you've had any heat problems because I thought that the intercooler and oil cooler would "steal" to much of the cooling capacity in the front of the car. I'd also want to get the intake air from the right side fender like you have done, just without the snorkle at first, can't afford it all at once..😂 Your solution gives a really short way from turbo, and no pipes and such over the engine like i have now! But the air filter and casing! Can you provide part number or link to where you've gotten them? Also for the top of the snorkle so i can put it on the to-do-list for later? The air filter is massive, and it will give a lot of air clearance for the turbo!🤩🤩🤩 Oh, you're going to Nordkapp!? If you take the route through Lofoten on your way north, which i really recommend, you'll drive practically right through my back yard!😂😂 Would you be ok with me sending you an email to stay in touch so i can pick your brain some times when I'm in the process with my own OM606 build? Also it would be cool if you stopped for a visit if you come by these parts on your way to Nordkapp! Again: great build you have done! It greatly inspirational to watch your videos, and it gives many good ideas for my own build! Thanks alot!

Great work as usual! Do you know about the function of the valve that lets air in when the fuel cap is closed? Does it allow air to come in only as the fuel gets burnt, or does it also release increased pressure? Pressure built up in my fuel tank when the temperature increased recently and caused a leak. I wonder if the valve is not working correctly... Thanks!
@MercedesOffRoadClub2 ай бұрын
Hello Paul, thanks for the comment. During rebuild I checked this valve and it allows air into the tank (one direction). During this video I performed some pressure tests of my new inlet to see if there were any leaks. At first I did it with fuel neck and cap closed. When I applayed some pressure - not much like < 1bar I have instantly heard big whistling from under the closed cap (both the cap and neck were brand new piceked them just days before, so the seal behind the cap is new as well) So what I try to say is that closed cap is not like 100% sealed with neck, it looks like it has some room to let the pressure out.
@paulryan5222 ай бұрын
OK, this is great, thanks! My W463 has been off the road for years, so maybe the cap just needed to be broken free. I'll investigate some more. Thanks again for the information!

Dopiero teraz zauważyłem że dodałeś film, Podoba mi się jak dozbrajasz ten samochód:) Good job as always!
Świetna sprawa. Ja testuję wersję 48/500. Na 48v pod akumulator z ebike'a.
Tak, bardzo porządne urządzenie, dorzuciłem teraz jeszcze ładowarke solarną mppt victrona i wszystko razem nabrało jeszcze więcej sensu.
Very nice done docter! 😉
👍
Good ideas!
WTF! nicest w463 restoration ever!!!! nice build, much more quality than factory build
Thank you for the comment, very much appreciated.
Amazing. Very informative and entertaining. 👏👏👏
Thanks!
OK, this is great, thanks! My W463 has been off the road for years, so maybe the cap just needed to be broken free. I'll investigate some more. Thanks again for the information!
Did you cerakote the engine and transmission or is it regular paint?
Just a regular paint
This tank system was one of the things I was trying to email you about! Great timing! Excellent job. I was thinking about making my main tank as well.
Thanks and good luck!
You are increíble !!!! 👍👍👍👍
Thank You Alvaro!!
Looking great as always! I'm about to tear into my w463 to do the snorkel routing, your video on that has given me a lot of help, thanks!
Thanks Mats for comment, very appreciated. Good luck with snorkel!!
Om606 with a 4L80 easier and better
Maybe, but it has pretty much crazy gear ratios like: 1: 2.48 2: 1.48 3: 1.00 4: 0.75 GS6-37DZ 1st gear: 5.14 220 CDI 716.xxx 6 spd 1st gear: 5.01 722.6 5 spd 1st gear: 3.93 8HP70 1st gear: 4.69
That email address is not working. I tried it a few times because I saw that you left it in comments on another video. I just tried it again and it was sent back.
I have just sent test mail to: [email protected] and got in 5 secs, are you sure you copy entire address correctly?
Yes, I have the email address right. It bounced back all 3 times.
Try this one: [email protected]
That didnt work either!
