I buy one and for some reason always ends up with a higer wall and im not sure if its something off with the wheel or with me (im totally a nooby)

That happens when the clay isn't fully centred at the beginning. But that will take time to learn, however if the wheel is shaking it's even harder to get it perfectly centered

Top tip.... never cut from the rim to the hole you cut like you did in the video, always cut from the hole out, (I've made literally thousands of yarnbowls) inside of the curl first, then outside. But reserve the third of the curl from the rim and pop it back in to help the curl dry in place (remove before firing of course!) and reduce warping and slumping during the glaze fire. Also restrict the curl to the top half or third of the bowl so there's less weight in the curl during the glaze fire. And finally, always try to make them bottom heavy. It's an asset.

Thanks! Calder, I really enjoy your videos! You have such a positive energy in your smile, and I love your accent, with occasional differences from our usual English! I particularly love these things because you have such wonderful ideas in making pottery. Usually, I’m not fond of polkadots, but I just loved how this word came out with so many colors. The first one, with colors from the aluminum foil, had me worried that it would be just a mixed mess of color, but I loved it, as I love the delicate stripes. You have a very steady hand. Thanks so much!
