Do u have a heater in this set up
No, they do well at our room temperatures. Thanks for watching!
Just bought a tank of vampire crabs locally and it has to be a carbon copy of this design. Same water pump and everything. Two happy customers.
Hope they are doing well for you!!
I have glow tetras in a natural tank with angel fish n i will add plants soon hopefuly
They are very colorful, enjoy!!
@@PetsNPonds thanks i do enjoy them a lot! I got them for the colors, i don't care so much for glow! If i could i would make glo-Oscars! ❤
hey I just have a question about keeping different color of crabs together since I read online says it’s the best to keep different color crabs separated but I feel like it would just look so much better. Was it okay for you to keep more than one color in the same tank and did u experience any aggression?
I have had them together before, for the short term. I believe it is fine as long as there is lots of room, others may argue that but that is my experience. I would not keep them together long term as the can potentially crossbreed and mess up the lines
Are these for display or do you have some for sale? Real nice guppy.
We have them for sale, as well. I am really liking these guys they are awesome
Great video! Tank looks great!
Thanks! It is a fun little set up
Nice to see how you bring it all together
Thanks 👍
nice fish!
Yup, was a fun order, more coming next week
Woah!!! Great to find you have a KZread channel!! I was in a couple months ago asking about the platinum koi guppies!! Great store, loved the racking design, super cool. Taking inspiration from that for my fish wall at home lol
Awesome! Thank you!
@@PetsNPonds we'll definitely be back soon!!
Awesome swamp guppies!
They are! Lovin those little guys
Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome!
finally a video i was searching for. Thank you!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
Was hoping the frog would attack u
He eventually got over it, and was happy to share his plants LOL
Don't these prefer sand?
I don't believe it makes much difference to them, they move it all around anyway gravel or sand. I think water quality is more important to them
I would like that mushroom house.
Its made by Marina iGlo if you are looking for them
today i go to buy at local shop
Enjoy, they are awesome little fish
What did you use to keep the temperature and humidity at the right levels? Also what are you using to test the water?
I just keep them at room temperature, and I have about 3/4 of the screen top closed in with plastic to keep the moisture in
Wow! Going to get some soon!!!!! Congrats for successfully breeding these...great video! keep rockin Liked and subscribed!
Thank-you, they are pretty awesome little guys
Cool! Can’t wait for ours to grow up!
They really are good looking Plecos, enjoy yours!!
Wow the contrast between the black lines and the silver body is sharp Beautiful
They are beautiful, one of my favorites
How much did the whole build cost?
I would estimate about $175-200ish
Is the filter supposed to have a small water flow coming out? Mine looks like yours and it's working but saw another video where you could see the water coming out. Mine is on high as well
There is a slight surface ripple but very little, some people take out the foam which will increase the flow
Feels like a mini golf course
You're not lying LOL : )
How do you differentiate between female and the male?
Females have rounded ventral fins where the males are fairly pointed
@@PetsNPonds Thanks! I wish I could send a photo of them here. Hopefully that the new one is a female since I see that its ventral fins are not long and pointy as the male I have. Does coloration also need to be considered?
@@deckwithmatter Males do tend to have more color but the fins are more important
Hi, great build, given me some great ideas for my fluval flex 57l paladarium conversion @pnpaquatics, what kg/litres are the bags for the hydroballs? cheers
The bags I used were 1.13kg (2.5 lbs), ..good luck with your build those Flex tanks are nice! Thanks for watching
What are the measurements of your paludarium?
(50Lx26Wx30H cm) I wouldn't build one any smaller than that for these Crabs, they seem to like the space. Thanks for watching
Surely not enough water to breakdown all the waste?
Been running several years now and its been great. The crab waste is virtually non existent and used by the plants on land. Anything in the water is taken care of by the filter, those crabs do not seen to create very much waste at all. Thanks for watching
@@PetsNPonds thanks for the reply, it's a great video! Super interested in getting some of these guys, I had red claw rabs once and they mad eloads of waste 🤔 in terms of maintenance how does it compare to a normal fish tank? Hard to find this info online so far! Thanks again!
@@cjr96 Red Claws are very messy, I have had those as well in a similar set up and they basically destroyed it within a few months. Vampires are much easier to keep and do a lot less damage, in terms of maintenance I feel its easier than a fish aquarium, partial water change once a month or so, regular filter maintenance and wipe off a little algae and thats about it
@@PetsNPonds amazing thank you! Yeah red claws are destructive! 🙃
How many days do I have to leave it on before I put in my beta fish?
Should run for at least 24hrs or more, be sure to use a water conditioner
Where does everyone get those little brushes for the substrate? Does it come with the set up or does everyone putting these together happen to have them?
I am using what Fluval calls a substrate shovel, that available from them and other companies make them as well. It has a wide end and a narrow end thats great for getting in around rocks and wood
Hi, I'm watching you from Kazakhstan. Competent presentation, useful video. Will there be a new part?
Yes, I will be doing more crab videos soon
I want to setup glo fish tank for my boys room.i think glowing fish tank would be very nice for boys..i already had everything but dont know what type of lamp you use?..red/blue/white light?
My tank has Blue LEDs over it, Good Luck with your tank!
@@PetsNPonds thanks!!
I've got 4 of these coming in 2 days, only because they were out of the gold lasers I'd ordered. They'll go in my 55g with my existing 2 sterbai, 2 paleatus, and 2 fairy corys. I'm a cory fanatic. It's a denison barb and praecox rainbows tank with a golden zebra loach (not yoyo), a hillstream loach that I haven't seen in weeks, and 3 blue zebra angelfish. It's a little overstocked but not crowded, and I run 2 seachem tidal 110s packed with just matrix bio media, so the water is always just fine. Although my golden zebra loach has skinny loach syndrome which I've dosed paraguard and he seems to be coming around. His color is better and he's not hiding all the time anymore. I did do a great job of creating a LOT of natural hiding places
Nice bunch of Corys you have, good luck with your tank, sounds like a nice set up
@PNP Aquatics thank you...I really surprised myself with my scape on this one...I'm horrible at that
Where can I order some ???
Sorry we cannot ship the Crabs
mine can climb the filter wire so i had to put a mesh on top
Mine climb the plants often, so the cover is neccessary
Does it need bubbles I heard pet o said they can die with to much oxygen?
there should be some areation , either through surface agitation, or an air pump
I keep a lot of inverts/reptiles but I wanted to get into vampire crabs and I searched it and came across one of your videos from about 2 years ago watched it and loved it, watched your other one from about a year ago as well then came across this masterpiece! I hope this blows up like it should. Amazing videos I hope to see many more! ❤❤
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!
For vampire crabs, does the water need to be changed or is it enough to put a filter?
I do partial 50% water changes every 2 weeks, even with a filter
@@PetsNPonds Thanks you, for answer
Nice video! What kind of filter is that?
Thanks, the filter is an Aquael Mikro Plus
damn that's good😵
Thanks, I appreciate it!
thats sooooo beautiful
Thank-you!
great biuld! do you extra spray terrestial part or is it enough humidity coming from under the soil / hydroballs part? thanks
I have the top almost completely covered so it stays fairly humid, and therefore I never have to spray it.
Looks cool, but I doubt this can actually work in the long run. The soil will still release a ton of nutrients into the water below, but since there can hardly be any submerged plants all those nutrients will cause a massive algea bloom, before the emerse plants have rooted down. I don't know your room temperatures, but I doubt they are 24°, so you probably need at least a heater for the water, and depending on the sources, 40x40 is too small for a group of 6, most sources recommend at least 60x30 for 6 animals, so you might need to add another level to the tank.
Just over a year in and things are going great, terrestrial plants need lots of trimming, floating aquatics (dwarf water lettuce) keep algae at a minimum, crabs are doing well (lost 1) new babies dont last too long as the adults eat them but dont want it overcrowded anyway.
Hi How many fish did you put in this specific tank?
Love these crab videos!
Glad you like them! Thanks
Hey I hope you can reply I just did kinda the same build and it looks like your water level goes into your soil level and when I did mine the soil also got water logged at the bottom did you notice yours did the same?
I try to keep the water below the soil line so it can drain properly, I have overfilled it on occasion and the soil does get too mucky for sure, best to keep it lower
@@PetsNPonds yeah I wasn’t sure if I was going to restart or maybe just drain what’s in there and put a separate tub of water in the tank. I have vampire crabs that I put in there as well. It looks so nice I’d hate to redo the whole thing I even put my isopods and springtails in lol. If I don’t fill it enough tho the filter can’t suck up any water so I don’t know
Hey, I have red devil crabs and I found some white dots on a piece of driftwood that look kinda like eggs. So is it possible for crabs to lay their eggs, or do they always carry them till they hatch?
As far as I know they all carry the eggs with them
That's alot of fish in a 20 gallon. Geex.😯
We are a retail store, they are not there long and we do constant water changes. I would not recommend this for a home tank
@@PetsNPonds I didn't know that. Thankyou!🙂🐠
I have 5 glofish in a 50 gallon with 10 zebra danios. My glofish are 4 years old. Love your channel by the way.🤗
@@sheriplott9650 that would make a nice display,...and Thank-you
myanmar badis....😍😍
They are pretty for sure!
Hi I’m totally newbie to aquatic, I build my small Paludarium for my Vampire Crab but one huge problem I met my crab died next day I wonder it’s my water problem but I do have put dechlorine to the water before put in the tank…Please help me 🥲
Hard to say why he died, dechlorinator works pretty much instantly so as long as it was done before the crab went it, it should have been fine
@@PetsNPonds But what if the crab actually fine before the water changes?
Beautiful tank decor!!! Is it OK/safe to use any brand of the glue and or glue gun?
Tha k-you,..any of the cyanoacrylate gel type super glues are safe, there are lots of different brands
