That is a great price for the Steam Deck and I am pretty sure they will not stay in stock long at that price. I bought my LCD Steam Deck at last year's Summer Sale and have ZERO regrets. Yes OLED screens look great but with the software updates the Steam Deck has had, the LCD screen on the Steam Deck looks really good. I got the 64 GB version, swapped out the 64GB SSD to 1 TB and added a 1 TB micro SD card. Again these are new units are not pre-owned. Thanks for the video.

I bought the Samsung G80SD while it had a $300 gift card promotion, but have watched this MSI model for months. The price may be higher in Europe, but I've yet to find this MSI monitor in stock for five months! I have some questions: I do not care for the smart features on the Samsung, but the matte coating grain is what is actually bothering my eyes. I want to purchase the MSI MPG U321RX and choose the one I like the most and give the other to my friend. * How do you like the coating on the MSI? * Are there any options between 120hz and 240hz selectable? * Are you required to choose a special "game mode" to utilize VRR and 240hz or can they be implemented in any mode? * Is there a power brick? * Is it silent or does it whine at high pitches? * Does it give off considerable heat from the top or front of the panel with even desktop use? * The Samsung has controls for white balance and color calibration, but since the MSI is calibrated at the factory, I am assuming this is entirely unnecessary and the preset modes work very well: do you feel this is the case? The Samsung has a "smart calibration" feature that I have yet to try much like the LG TV that requires certain Samsung phones or an iPhone. Thanks so much for your help!

Hey! Here are my answers: 1. The coating is quite reflective, so make sure to play in a dark area. Otherwise I don’t see any problems with it. 2. Unfortunately, no. But they might add that with firmware. 3. No special mode required. 4. No power brick. 5. Absolutely silent. 6. Nope! 7. The given modes are good. The “Pro” SRGB mode is accurate but you can hardly change anything with that. There is no calibration built in. You need to do it with a third party program and third party device. I hope this helps :)

About the factory calibration, MSI claims factory calibration on the product page: did it come with a printout showing a few metrics before and after calibration like colorspace and Delta E? Interesting about not requiring a special mode. The Samsung G80SD requires a "game mode" be enabled that consumes more power and puts out more heat. I find the center back of the panel is warm even in standby while the PC is asleep. Another question as I'm still learning: Have you experienced any VRR flicker? It seems to be an issue with QD-OLED monitors and a lesser, but still present, issue with WOLED monitors. Typically shows up in dark scenes. There are some videos on KZread that show it acutely.

Great video! I got mine back in January and its been an absolute blast! Recently I've been having a really good time with Diablo 4, it plays surprisingly very well on the Deck. I think my Steam Deck is going to be my secret super power for this summer, play some games on it instead of playing on my desktop PC which will just make my room incredibly hot lmao Summer sale also starts soon and I'm prepared for my bank account to be very angry at me because of it 👀

These Hades games are made by people who can't accurately show Hellenic mythology as it originally was. They just had to add black, brown, and disabled characters. Seriously? If I remember right, they even put a fat, brown guy in a wheelchair. And before anyone starts whining under my post, Greeks are white. They're European, WHITE. So don't even try to argue otherwise.

Very good deal. If you are not plagued by FOMO, you can have a lot of fun with the LCD model. My wife uses the LCD model that I had before I bought the OLED and she likes to use it for short gaming sessions.

Just bought Fable Anniversary yesterday for Steam Deck. I had the original on the old Xbox back in the day. I see what you mean I fell in love with the music, and the realistic looking faces on the characters is fantastic. I love the Demon Door faces they look the same as my dads face lol.

I would SO love it if Forza Horizon 1 and 2 were either backported, or playable via emulation. I believe I've seen some reports of 1 running through emulation, but I'm not sure how well it'd play on the Deck... I just got a new SD card as my previous one went bad (that's what I get for cheaping out and not getting a reputable brand) so I need to figure out how to move all of my emulation stuff over so that I can give it a go!

Another part for me buying it because I've had my stamp account since 2014 and I had another account before that since 2012 and over $240 games on there. Buying a steam deck was a no-brainer for me

I'm selling my spare 5K iMac to buy one of these, It will be the OLED 1TB that I'll get. I have so many games in Steam but my Mac Studio can't play them. It will be good to get back into a bit of Left4Dead2 or Team Fortress 2 lol. Certainly looking forward to getting one that's for sure :)

Listen, i LOVE it. I have the PS5 upstairs.Whenever im playing on the tv and the wife wants company downstairs for whatever shes doing, i pause the game boot up the portal and im down there with her hanging out while resuming the game on the portal. Sometimes i just want to play in bed at 11am while shes snoozing. Its an accessory to enjoy your ps5 more. ive bought a travel case just incase i wanna play while away from home bcsuse who doesnt have wifi. I have the portal since release day. 🔥 oh and i beat CP2077 Phantom liberty in its entirety (60 fps)on the portal. NO noticeable lag. I was conflicted bcause i was trading specs for accessibility 🔥🔥. Its crazyyy how good it looks for 1080p. Im playing Dead island 2 rn and WOWWWWW. Looks gorgeous! But this is best enjoyed for single player games. But then again ive completed a couple of lvl 9 helldiver runs on the portal and some fortnite matches 🤷🏻♂️

I'm willing to bet that the WAN remote play that the portal is doing is likely routing through Sony for certain aspects of the feature so that you don't have to open ports on your home network to be able to remoteplay over WAN.

You might still have to Port Forward on your router to connect to your Ps5, if you are not using your portal on the same local network ( away from home)as your ps5 and using a different Internet source ie phone hotspot or in another locations WiFi you will need to open the ports on your router.

The portal is only good for someone who also has a ps5 and want to play their games on a portable while in the house.I have a Lenovo legion go and it blows this thing out the water in every aspect of a handheld plus its doesn’t have to be tethered.I can play xbox,playstation,switch,pc etc on one device and take it anywhere in the world

Perfect time to play some free games or emulate some games on your steam deck 😅. I never even thought about the people who might have bought this thing who don't already have a massive steam library. Another part for me buying it because I've had my stamp account since 2014 and I had another account before that since 2012 and over $240 games on there. Buying a steam deck was a no-brainer for me

I'm selling my spare 5K iMac to buy one of these, It will be the OLED 1TB that I'll get. I have so many games in Steam but my Mac Studio can't play them. It will be good to get back into a bit of Left4Dead2 or Team Fortress 2 lol. Certainly looking forward to getting one that's for sure :)
I also have a Mac Studio for my color grading work. But it’s definitely not a gaming machine 🤣

Listen, i LOVE it. I have the PS5 upstairs.Whenever im playing on the tv and the wife wants company downstairs for whatever shes doing, i pause the game boot up the portal and im down there with her hanging out while resuming the game on the portal. Sometimes i just want to play in bed at 11am while shes snoozing. Its an accessory to enjoy your ps5 more. ive bought a travel case just incase i wanna play while away from home bcsuse who doesnt have wifi. I have the portal since release day. 🔥 oh and i beat CP2077 Phantom liberty in its entirety (60 fps)on the portal. NO noticeable lag. I was conflicted bcause i was trading specs for accessibility 🔥🔥. Its crazyyy how good it looks for 1080p. Im playing Dead island 2 rn and WOWWWWW. Looks gorgeous! But this is best enjoyed for single player games. But then again ive completed a couple of lvl 9 helldiver runs on the portal and some fortnite matches 🤷🏻♂️
Thats my ideal scenario! Havent gotten into Helldivers 2 yet and it’s not running well on the Steam Deck. I imagine myself sitting on the couch, streaming the game and obliterating bugs 🤣

Thank you!! Not really.. I love arcade racers though! The only sim like thing that I play are actually rallye games. My neighbour has a whole rig in his basement for assetto corsa. Gotta try that sometime :)
About to go away for a couple of weeks so going to enjoying playing Starfield on the OLED Deck while away. Its a bit suttery every now and again, but it seems to work fine for me.

I'm willing to bet that the WAN remote play that the portal is doing is likely routing through Sony for certain aspects of the feature so that you don't have to open ports on your home network to be able to remoteplay over WAN.
Im not sure how it works but that sounds like a plausable explanation.
You might still have to Port Forward on your router to connect to your Ps5, if you are not using your portal on the same local network ( away from home)as your ps5 and using a different Internet source ie phone hotspot or in another locations WiFi you will need to open the ports on your router.

The portal is only good for someone who also has a ps5 and want to play their games on a portable while in the house.I have a Lenovo legion go and it blows this thing out the water in every aspect of a handheld plus its doesn’t have to be tethered.I can play xbox,playstation,switch,pc etc on one device and take it anywhere in the world
You are correct the portal is good for home when the wife wants to watch her shows . My steam deck covers the rest .
I have not had the chance to try the Legion Go. The Steam Deck just ticks most of my boxes anyway.
Still its windows and have a lot of issues as a portable gaming device.
I have had the portal since day one and I like it a lot it feels great and looks great and the screen is big . Any updates are a good thing .

I own several devices, screens.... but my SD oled is always my way to go. Right now I'm enjoying Sekiro so much, the convenience of gaming for15 minutes, putting it down and continuing later makes it perfect for my lifestyle.
I love Sekiro. Pumped 50 hours into the PC version a few years back within 4 days. It’s actually my favorite FromSoft game.
