I get misty every time I hear this song. I was only 9 or 10 when I first saw Godspell but I had a calling years before this. I believe that watching Godspell sealed it. It’s been up hill ever since. I had my son watch this many years ago. I believe, I can’t remember exactly, but if I remember correctly, he cried. He went to live with the Savior 41/2 years ago. He was 25 and had high functioning autism. ❤️😢❤️

I sang this song in my high school production, and played the “Telly” version of this character. I’m a girl though, so I was asked to sing high Fs during the chorus bc of female register… it was HARD lol. Still absolutely love this song almost eight years later🤍

Godspell was amazing. One of my favorite pieces of music to sing in folk group in the 70s was this song! The keyboards are fantastic and ridiculously powerfully too. We really "brought it" when we presented it in Mass. we moved the congregation to their feet!. I was even lucky enough to sing the solo in Day-By-Day.. An incredibly perfect compilation of songs to mark a brilliant time in music. Thanks for this walk down memory lane ❤🙏

Okay. I'm gonna dissent. I've been more moved by my local community theater production than by this. I don't care who's in it. The staging, pacing, arrangement and production values are dismissive, cynical and trite.

I remember this movie. It was a very good movie. I wish they had movies like this now
I've been backsliding for many years, but time to return to the fold. I first saw Godspell the movie when I was about 16-17 and absolutely loved it. The end left me in tears. Flash forward many years later and the songs make me puddle up again. Lynne Thigpen absolutely nailed this. I hope you are at peace, dear lady. You have left us far too soon.

This movie/play was such a new form of expression at the time. It did genuinely move people spiritually. The music was deep and the choreography was so creative. The world is so messed up now. We definitely need a reminder of better time in life like this. Thank you for posting.
I saw Godspell at Casa Manana theater in Fort Worth when I was a teenager. It was a beautiful show and it changed my life.
