    I live in NYC and the sparrows have made their homes in these open long metal pipes on street lights that stick out sideways. The pipes are about 3” in diameter. They seem very happy.

    These awful, invasive species kills bluebirds who take up residence in the houses i provide. They kill the adults as well as the eggs and/or babies. They'll build their own nests right on top of the corpses of those they killed. Their large, sharp beak is no match for insect eaters and the aggression is unmatched. You're foolish for helping this non- native nuisance. There is no law protecting house sparrows for a reason. They are pests.

    Excuse me, my stranger friend! The explanation is alright but the video recording technique is not alright. On behalf of the sparrows, thank you for feeding and recording but please try not to shake your hands too much. Take care of them as much as you can. I love them a lot! I feel sad if I don't see or hear them talking, feel miss them if they are not at "home" even just some hours. I have sparrows neighbours and always wait for their coming back around 0545PM. They wake me up before 5AM every morning, too. I hear their voice but I cant hear my alarm by my bed! Thank you! 🤗🤗

    I got two tiny bird pots ..knowing that house sparrows (chiiu kuruvi) are drastically diminishing...and for almost a year ....I used to look at those bird pots...but nothing...in just a month I saw a pair..busy building their nest in one pot....I just burst out with joy..I have a sizable area around the house...I see them foraging for food in the garden ...I knew I have a pair that will stay... Hopefully I get two more in the next pot.

    Rice is cooked well done! but there are much better grains for these omnivorous birds

    Normally I feed millets to them. The baby sparrows are fed worms by their parents. The closest to worms is cooked rice

  • @FLOSSYTREADWELL
    @FLOSSYTREADWELL5 жыл бұрын

    @@RajeshSingh1 we're giving mealworms... not ideal due to the chitin shell. Personally when raising insectivorous or omnivores I feed crickets with sharp legs removed. Yes millet is a favourite with sparrows :-) Thank you for the video!

    I love my Sparrows! All birds really. I'm in Michigan, a Northern State in the USA and right now we are preparing for a long hard Winter with snow, ice and terrible winds. For that reason I was looking for a good DIY Winter home or roost. We have Evergreens around, but I don't image it's very warm. I provide food & water throught-out, another reason for the house. So, thank you for the great idea!!
