Live in Delaware for more than 30 years, not from here. I can tell you from living in several other states, there is no perfect place. Delaware is what you accept. If you continue to gripe about what it doesn't have, you are missing opportunities to expand your horizon/life experiences. It doesn't have airports and major sports teams but think about the cities that do and they have more crime and less open space to enjoy biking, walking, playgrounds, picnics, times with family FOR FREE! Sure, you have to drive 2 hours to get to an airport, sporting event, museums, etc. but from my experience, people who live in cities with those things generally don't visit them that often because they live there and too expensive to attend. Again, once you accept what it doesn't have and stop complaining about it, Delaware is not THAT bad.
You’re preaching to the choir, but i don’t want people to think I’m inherently bias because one I’m lifelong DE native and two I also sell real estate here. So I just want to be transparent that Delaware does have problems and it’s not perfect but I still think it’s pretty good.
I live in Frederica looking to relocate not sure where but still wanna stay in Delaware
I highlight a bunch of different area in Delaware on this channel hopefully it’s helpful
1:48 also has a gang problem you failed to mention that 🤷🏾♂️
I can’t speak about crime because of fair housing laws but I did do a video specifically on Wilmington where I do mention they do have all of the typical problems inner cities have everywhere and to do your research but Wilmington is much bigger than just the inner city
I was born and raised in Virginia so so far all that he is saying is not a determinant for me
They are deal breakers for some people
Route 3 Diner in North Wilmington on Veale Rd. is an excellent place if you're looking for diner food. Portions are large and prices are good. There are lunch and dinner specials every day.
I’ll have to check it out
Love Firebirds and Sullivan's. Mama Gina's was a favorite spot for lunch on Fridays when I worked nearby.
I always try to stop by if I’m in the area on the weekend
Cool Springs in Dover is really nice. Great food, amazing homemade desserts, nice atmosphere as well. Can be a little expensive, but it’s not a chain restaurant and their food is really really good.
Yeah them and restaurant 55 are good I may have to do another video in the future
@@BrandonWindom agreed!
Delaware is a good state.. born and raised..
I think so too
💯
💪🏼
Crazy it's a real place.
Yes it is 😂
Hi Brandon! Does Delaware have lots of Multigenerational homes?
Just depends we are starting to see more and more homes with first floor bedrooms and bigger space
Is Delaware a Commonwealth state?
No
I don’t know anything about Delaware, What area is safe to live farther away from Philadelphia? What area is walkable and has efficient public transportation
Not necessarily but typically northern Delaware has a more robust public transportation but the city of Newark is pretty walkable I did a video on it.
I don’t know anything about Delaware, What area is safe to live farther away from Philadelphia? What area is walkable and has efficient public transportation
I think this is a duplicate
I'm a student and I was thinking of taking an English Course in Delware UNI, but I'm unsure about Apartments Prices or One bed places is it expensive or reasonable, thx in advance
Depending on how close you are to the university they can get expensive.
Nice update Brandon!
Thanks we need to get AJ a place now
LOVE this video style. I love these properties except that not a single one had a first-floor master. That's a deal breaker for us.
They do have single floor master floor plans I’m going to be showcasing more communities in the near future.
@@BrandonWindom Any upscale developments like this near Delmar?
@majorpipe there’s a few in Delmar land is a lot cheaper out there so it’s usually a bit cheaper
I WILL TRUST God 🙏🏽❤️
🙏🏼
Nothing can beat that peace of mind. Everyone needs a base to launch a family or what have you. Very good points!
I can wholeheartedly say without buying my house I would not be where I am today
#1 Joe arriving and shutting down everything. Thanks Joe
That is a pain lol
Dude!! You never mentioned Delaware State University!!!!!
I actually talk about del state in my video about the pros and cons of Dover feel free to check it out.
There’s too many ppl in Delaware feels like hell
Thanks for watching. Delaware is growing pretty fast.
Thanks to sharing your experience with us . Felt same thing too.
Thanks for watching
In Sussex county, we have the DART bus providing bus service. It’s great, avoid traffic, parking, etc and it’s cheap for seniors. $.80 to ride each way.
In certain areas DART is great but as a state as a whole it could definitely improve with extended hours and routes.
Delaware has income tax. I pay estimates every quarter.
I don’t believe I said Delaware doesn’t have state income tax all I said was Delaware doesn’t have sales tax which is correct we don’t.
A realtor should know Delaware does have sales tax on certain things like 4.25% on automobiles. If you move to Delaware, you have to pay 4.25% on KBB average value.
Thanks for watching but you do not pay sales tax on a car purchased in Delaware. Now what you are referring to is a document fee not a sales tax and I actually mention that it some of my other videos.
As a life long New Jerseyan, Delaware is the only other state i could imagine comfortably living in.
I’ve had quite a few people from Jersey just trying to get away from those high property taxes.
What about towns closer to philly , like 30 - 45 mins out from. Diversity is a must for me.
Wilmington, Newark, Bear I’ve done videos on some of them as well as a full Delaware map walkthrough explaining the areas that may be helpful.
Being from Massachusetts and New hampshire, it can't be as costly. NH has been ruined by all the ny and Massachusetts people moving in droves to escape how they voted. Does this happen to Delaware as well ?
It’s definitely a possibility but I think it’s for affordability and proximity more so than politics.
I’m glad these more secretive areas still exist in Delaware. I’d hate to finally make the move only to find out that everyone else beat me to it.
Yeah there are some for now. But I’m not sure for how long because Delaware is building and developing at a breakneck speed and still can’t keep up with demand.
Wilmington born and raised and I can’t wait to leave. When i meet people from other states I always ask “why out of all places dis you pick Delaware?”😂
🤣🤣 that’s hilarious because that’s literally one of the first questions I ask when people reach out to me.
Lived there 14 Years. Couldn't moved out fast enough. Now I'm in New Jersey life is better. I Lived in NYC, Philly and Maryland (DMV).. I have something to compare it to. "Good ole boy network" and no blk middle class, too many wawas and dollar stores, no entertainment, underdeveloped main streets. Roadways and highways haven't caught up to the population (MOT area) and some still flood. Oh lastly, up until recently (since I moved) no major flights to anywhere. He is right the air quality is bad if you have allergies and the Hospital and Dr networks are overcrowded with ER wait times in the hours. Did I mention most places the Fire Departments are volunteer only?
Delaware definitely has its share of problems that’s for sure
@BrandonWindom FYI Delaware Is A Southern State Brandon. You Are Not A Yankee.
Thanks for watching not sure what I said to prompt that response 🤣
@@BrandonWindom Oh It Was Just Information. 😅 I Was Just Letting You Know That Delaware Is A Southern State.
Very nice 😊
Thanks for watching hope it helps 😁
Might consider a move there!
😁
Great video and great information on moving into a New Construction home in Middletown, Delaware. Thanks! I love this style of video. You should definitely do some more!
I’m going to try and do more in the future
Shout out to mtv cribs 👊
They were ahead of their time 🤣
What about the school system, the democratic & the crime rate
Thanks for watching unfortunately due to fair housing laws I can’t comment on those directly. All I can do is provide resources and let you make an informed decision.
Love it Brandon!❤
Thanks so much 🙏🏼
I really like this style of video! I’d love to see more properties, if that’s a possibility.
Thanks for watching. I’m going to try and do more videos like this in the future
hey brandon i have lived in delaware pretty much all my life and there is no such thing as a good public school in delaware except for some of the charter schools and the private schools from my experience
I guess it just depends on what you would consider bad or good
I don't find Delaware slow. It's just like South Jersey. I lived in Richmond Virginia and spent time in Mississippi those places are slow. Believe it or not California is slow compared to NJ. Lotta traffic, but people are always late and can't drive in Rain. 😂😂😂
Yeah because it never rains there 🤣
Well, the property taxes are significantly lower. However, if you’re thinking of moving to the beach, get ready to pay a huge amount on your water bill. In addition, home prices are absolutely outrageous within ten or more miles from the beach, and the traffic becomes a nightmare during the summer months.
I approve this message 🤣
What's Delaware prospects to land a semiconductor factory under the CHIPS act?
Who knows your guess is as good as mine
Real creative on the name 😂 They should rename it Apponquinick after the school district.
Yeah Delaware isn’t that creative when it comes to naming 🤣
Can we all acknowledge that a 70 year old 140 pound woman from out of state of Maryland honors her 40 pound dumbbell side bend and 50 pound dumbbell side bend even 35 pound dumbbell side bend
🤨
As someone who has lived in Delaware my whole life, I can say that these things are true but I still love Delaware
Same here
We have eerily similar stories! I purchased my first home back in 2017 (in Wilmington near riverfront). My first year brought me immediate issues like a new water heater as well as a water main break over the Christmas holiday….🥴. My water ran for nearly a week before it was shut off. ‘Twas an expensive welcome and learning experience to say the least. I was only 23 at the time too.
Yeah it can be tough but I wouldn’t trade it for anything through real estate I’ve been able to accomplish things I never could’ve dreamed of
Crime , stay far away
Thanks for watching
