Thanks to my father, I have been involved with trains and railfanning for the last 23 years. We Moved up to Montana in 1995, and now are where most of my videos are recorded. A new thing for me is the including of real life sounds and editing them into model train videos.

Nice compilation of MRL!
Beautiful area and with a bike trail too!😁👍
0:46 That's a very interesting combo, looks like the local for Harrison (note the heavily graffitied MRL hoppers) and power for another local combined with BNSF power?

The audio throughout this video is amazing!
A reason i love EMDs... GE locos could not have started that train from that point...
K5lla 1st gen is beautiful sound as music
Although it was a bit of a challenge for them, they did indeed pass the test and got the train going again! Great video!
By merging with Burlington Northern, the BNSF completely broke the myth of the Warbonnets... and that's a shame. Greeting from La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland
Wow, nice video, right place, right time !
SD70MAC's earning their keep!

NEVER GiVE UP 🎶
ElectroMotive Diesel (EMD) should include THIS in their sales campaigns, EMD locomotives doing what they do best ... after that crewman's "We can't do that." THIS is why I love railfanning EMD locomotives, they've never had "GIVE UP" as a throttle setting.
Emd doesn’t exist or make locomotives anymore and their predecessors progress rail have done an awful job.
Nice video
7:30 half throttle an not even moving damn thats a lot of weight
Fantastic. Exactly what Mullan Pass is all about. Very well captured too
One locomotive is 3.200 HPS but torque is huge 12,600 Nm !
SD70ACe clocks the dynomometer at about 4,500 hp. Others like the SD70MAC at the tail end of the train generate about 4,000 hp. I think that lone GE unit up front puts out about 4,400 hp. I suspect (but don't know for sure) that even the 4,000 hp SD70MAC generates more tractive effort than the GE C44-9W. Yeah, I'm biased toward EMD and have been since I was a kid. I'm 69yo now.
Those EMD’s are major league impressive
hey man i hope things are going good holler at me when you can
Thanks for making this tribute video. I'm modelling the MRL 2nd and 3rd Sub in N Scale, and I can't believe my railroad became a fallen flag... 😢
Great video....
Great shots!
Great job Nick!!!!! especially at the end.
Why thank you! It really tied everything together!
Nice catch!
Nice Leslie RS3L on BNSF 1119! I caught BNSF 4064 with a Leslie RS3L in Santa Fe Springs,CA on August 28,2022.
Very nice
Utal belt rail railroD
That sure was one of the hardest stops I've ever seen at 1:27
MAX & RUBY 🎹
NEVER GiVE UP 🎹
EMD locomotives have never had "GIVE UP" as a throttle setting.
Nice catch
Hello Mtrrnick: 7:45 Looks like he's rocking it, to get her moving!!!
Great trains!
I have to admit, those Montana Rail Link locomotives has the best sound when they're working and on full throttle.
"We ain't going to be able to do that..." EMD ..."hold my beer."
Cant start on a curve
That power sounds sweet .Broken knuckle could eat some clock! Sounds like he/they're pumping up the train
Gotta love those RS3L''s
Very impressive👍👍👍👍
Thanks airing the outstanding video.Impressive for the Locomotives Endeavors are unmatched.Bliss
Does MRL go out of Montana?
I got 2 Athearn Genesis in HO scale both in BNSF 9303 and 9366

I think I recognize the location. Isn't there an exit off the interstate that leads up the hill to that grade crossing? That farmhouse looks familiar.
Just a couple blue and gold engines. Cool layout.
"Oh come on, we're not gonna be able to do that." BNSF engineer: Watch me!
All MRL crews there. The BNSF led trains are haulage trains. BNSF provides the trains, MRL the crews.
THIS is why I love railfanning EMD locomotives, they don't have "GIVE UP" as a throttle setting.
Oh, yes, before the super fleet units in the warbonnet paint came, they had units in the Kodachrome paint scheme from the Southern Pacific Santa Fe merger which was denied.
Awesome 👍
At what percent incline is this grade?
